Re: Working the AA turrets

I think the Static AA weapon design is brilliant.

You have two components of the AA:

1) Long range homing: Chance to hit is independent of skill (missiles are homing) but give no kills, and at high attitude no deaths.

2) Short range: Chance to hit is based on skill, and gives proper rewards.

Finaly, both 1 and 2 have synergy, since at close range you can emp the craft and shoot it down. At the same time, unlike BF2 you can make the EMP missiles accurate without making them too deadly.

Re: Working the AA turrets

LOL, you guys Yes they are EMP weapons. They will not damage a craft (unless it is flying low), but instead make it easy pickings for your guns. Try to hold off on the missles until you have a nice shot with your guns and you will find it very easy to get the AA badge in a single round of play.

It might work to hold off locking on aircraft and wait for them to get close to pounce.

FYI -- stationary AA guns also make quick work out of the gunner pods oin the bottom of the Titans.

Re: Working the AA turrets

actually if you keep a lock on an aircraft the emp missles will make multiple passes on a target...so if it misses it will turn around sharply and come back for another pass.

If an aircraft stays in a lock for awhile it is garenteed hit...in fact the only effective way I have found to get away from AA is to fly really close to the ground where objects get in the way of the emps.

Of course when you do get hit, you usually run into those very objects :/
