Infraction System [Ban, kicks, warnings]
First:
Do not post about being banned or kicked!
Have you been banned or think you have been banned?
Sometimes these are simple misunderstandings and other times there are very important reasons people are banned from our servers. First take a look at our code of conduct. Next take a look at our server's rules. Lastly, Look at our Standard Operation Procedures. Have you done anything here that you might have violated or taking to a point where you might have broken any of these rules or procedures? Lastly we have a auto-administration program in place. This system allows our supporting members to join our full server. The program then selects the longest non-supporting member on the server and issues a kick to this person. Every new player encounters this at some point. You are not in any trouble and welcome to rejoin our server at any time. This is explained in more detail here.
Why do we have such a strict system, you ask? At the Tactical Gamer community here, we all chose to play these games here with a higher game quality then what most would come across on other public servers. This quality includes but not limited to, mature attitudes, real life tactics, fair play, and highly enforced team balance. This all comes down to enjoyment for everyone, TG and non-TG players alike. But we do have to ask all players, TG and non-TG to abide by our rules while on our server. Any violation of these rules easily ruins the fun from one to all the players on the server. We usually give text warning with our administration program. If that doesn't clear the problem, we'll then kick the player. Sometimes at this point it might be misunderstood that you were banned. Sometimes players cannot rejoin the server for a few minutes or upto a full round. This might be the case and waiting a half hour might resolve the issue. But our final resort is to ban a player. This is reserved for those who either ignore our warnings or simply do not see our warnings. It's also reserved for harsher violations of our rules. If you can't rejoin the server and you been banned. More chances then not it's going to tell you were banned for excessive team killing or a successful vote kick. This message is hard coded and we have no power to change that. If you do receive any ban message contact an admin via the appropriate Contact an Admin forum. We will then inform you if you were indeed banned, the time and reason. Admin will then discuss and review the violation with you. If the violation is repeated or of very serious nature, the administration board will review the case and make a consensus of action.
One last bit of information. A administrative kick is just that, a kick. A slap on the wrist. When we kick players it's to make them aware they violated a rule and not out of spite or taking care of our own players. If you have been kicked and not sure why, contact a administrator. We have a open door policy and will be happy to explain anything to our members via PM. Any player supporting and non-supporting can take advantage of our multi-channeled reporting system. We take any report serious, no matter what name appears in front of us. For more information on reporting infractions and violations, please check this thread here.
Contact an Admin ForumAdministrative Dispute Resolution (Open door policy)
In an effort to make communication between player and admin more effective, Tactical Gamer has created a semi-private forum for players to interact with the admin team. This new forum will make it easier for the players to see and track the progress of their request along with providing a history of any interaction. The security settings are setup in such a way that any registered forum member may create a new thread and post any responses in that thread. Users will not be able to see threads created by users other than themselves. Your discussion is private between you and the admin team. The Battlefield admin team will be able to read and respond to all threads posted in this new forum. This will allow for the appropriate admin or admins to respond. If a user has the desire to speak with only one admin or specifically to the game officer, then please continue to use private messages. However if your question / request is to the admin team in general, please use this new forum.
Forum: Battlefield 2142 - Contact an Admin
This particular forum is for the Battlefield 2142 series and respective mods.General Information:
If there is any concerns with an administrator of the Battlefield team or you are in disagreement with an administrator, you may contact the Battlefield game officer or another administrator.
2142 Game officerBattlefield 2142 AdminsA list of all forum moderatorsAdmins at TG follow a Warn / Kick / Ban policy for most rule breaches. Serious and obvious breaches can result in an instant kick or an instant ban. Knowing these policies will help you decide the best way to report an issue and what the admins consider to be serious breaches which require more attention.Dealing With Specific Occurrences:
TeamSpeak:
Ideally, you should be on TeamSpeak to report problem players, but we also watch in-game chat, so both methods are acceptable. Note that we now ask that you accompany a report with a message typed in global chat, so we can better find the player's name in the chat logs. You need not type it exactly, but the first few characters should be precise, so we can check the player list alphabetically.
This is how a typical report on TeamSpeak will play out:In-Game Chat Only:TGPlayer: "Can I get an admin?"
Admin: "Roger That, what's up?"
TGPlayer: (types '=OMG=1337 ...' in global chat) "=OMG=1337Skillz is Bunny Hopping, name typed in global chat."
Admin: "I got him, thanks." Sends 3 warning messages to chat.
If for some reason you don't have TeamSpeak enabled, then you can also report players via in-game chat. Be aware that this is not as reliable and some messages may be missed. Try to include as much information as possible, so no verification is needed by the admin.
Steam - New!TGPlayer -> ADMIN: =OMG=1337Skillz drove a suicide jeep into my tank.
Admin FBMantis is WARNING!!! you for SUICIDE TACTICS ----- (=OMG=1337Skillz)
You can send private messages to players via the Steam message system. While Steam wasn't designed with BF2142 in mind, you can run BF2142 from Steam and use it benifits while even in-game. So if your in another TS channel or not in TS at all, this tends to get an admins attention faster then chat reports.
See Steam + 2142 for setup instructions.
Repeat Offences:
If a warned player continues their behaviour, it is imperative that you follow this up. Repeat the reporting process, making it clear that the player has already been warned and they are continuing. The action will result in a kick from the server.
Things To Avoid:
The following are actions you should avoid when reporting in order to help the admin do their jobs better:- Don't tell an admin what action to take. They will decide this based on previous occurrences or the circumstances.
- Do not cry wolf. Make sure your report is accurate and you are not exaggerating the situation. Inaccurate and exaggerated reports will reduce the effectiveness of future actions and result in over-leniency from the admins for fear of being overzealous. It's up to you to make accurate reports.
Retrospective Reports:
We have the ability to query player info retrospectively and apply bans even after the player has left the server in the case of severe infractions. Please be extra careful when reporting retrospectively. Admins will require more evidence and a detailed explanation when querying such info.
Please provide as much of the following information as possible via a post in the semi-private "Contact an Admin" forum:
- Exact date and time of the occurrence. Please use current Eastern US times (EST or EDT : GMT -5 or -4 respectively).
- Exact player name (screenshots will help you remember).
- Detailed explanation of the infraction taking place.
- Screenshots of player name(s), kill messages and / or chat examples.
Note that we may not choose to take action when evidence is scarce, but we will always submit it for future reference, so don't hesitate to report problem players. We have a long memory and follow the actions of problem players closely. They don't last long on our servers.Guide To Breaches and Actions:
Following Orders:
If you are a CO and you have SLs who are not following orders, these are the steps to take:
- Check whether they have voice. If they don't, ask them by voice to respond using Page Up or Page Down to requests. Give them a couple of chances to do this. If they don't comply, tell them by voice that it is a server requirement that SLs follow CO orders or be kicked.
- If you still get no response, report them to an admin and state clearly that you have made every effort to get them into line.
- After the admin warns them, give the player 1 minute to acknowledge and if they don't follow it up immediately to ensure a kick. We need to get rid of unresponsive SLs as a priority, so it's up to you to make it work.
Squad Leader or Commander Duties:
SLs and COs are expected to lead. If you are presented with an unresponsive Squad Leader or Commander, make sure to report them. They should preferably have VOIP enabled and if they do not, you should ask them to step down to allow someone with voice to lead the squad.
COs should not be in any vehicle unless absolutely necessary. In most cases, they should not be engaging the enemy, but rather watching the overhead view and leading their team. If you notice a CO using an asset out of line, do the following:- If you are a SL, tell them by voice and type it in team chat. If you are a Squad Member, tell your SL to do so.
- An admin will warn them.
- Follow up within 1 minute if the CO is still ignoring their duties and they will be kicked.
- As a Squad Member, you should ask for orders by voice and also by using the 'T' commo rose to request them. You should explain that they should have VOIP enabled or step down to allow someone with VOIP to lead.
- An admin will warn them.
- Follow up within 1 minute if the SL is still ignoring their duties and they will be kicked.
Lack of teamwork can take many forms, many of which are obvious, some of which are not. The main factor affecting a team's performance is Lone Wolfing. It is expected that when asked, small squads merge into larger ones.
The most important time for squads to consolidate is at the beginning of the round. Make sure you use the load time constructively by typing in team chat for all small squads to merge. Squad Leaders without full squads should invite players from smaller squads to join. This is very effective and most players will comply to a join request from a well-named squad led by a TG player. It is especially important for you to name your squad when starting to something like "TEAMWORK", "VOIP" or "TACTICAL". Since players see the squad name in their invite request, they are much more likely to join a named squad than one simply called "CHARLIE".- Type in team chat asking everyone to merge small squads. If enough people do this, people will get the message. SLs use the time to invite loose players into your squads.
- Apply for the CO position and start asking squads to merge by voice. Do so politely and most people will comply. Report players who refuse or are unresponsive after 3 requests.
- You don't need to be a SL or CO to report loose squads. Unless it is obvious the squad is a helo, jet, arty or other specialist squad, report the Squad Leader to an admin and they will take care of it.
Intentional teamkilling is not tolerated at TG and results in an instant kick. You must be 100% sure the teamkill was intentional and report it as such. If you have been teamkilled for a vehicle, they will be instantly kicked. Anyone laying mines and / or C4 on friendly assets in the UCB will be instantly kicked, since their intention is clear. Note that instant kicks for teamkilling are only enacted if reported on TeamSpeak, otherwise we need proof in the form of actual teamkills registered by the server or voice verification.
Not Joining a Specialist Squad:
While not a rule, it is expected that if there is a specialist squad for helos, jets or artillery that players will join it to use those assets.- Make sure you name your squad clearly if you intend to use an asset. E.G: "GUNSHIP".
- If someone not from your specialist squad enters an asset, invite them to your squad and type in team chat that they should join your squad to share the asset.
- If they don't respond, tell an admin and we will follow standard W/K/B policy.
False Reports:
The following is a general guide to admin policies on certain types of behaviour and the actions we follow to act upon them. This will help you understand the best way to report behaviour and what responses to expect when encountered. Note that depending on severity, admins may follow a harsher avenue.
- Bunny Hopping: W/K/B.
- Following Orders: W/K/B.
- SL and CO Duties: W/K/B.
- Suicide Tactics: W/K/B.
- Punishing Teamkills: W/K/B.
- Repeatedly running over friendly mines: W/K/B.
- Spamming Commo Messages: W/K/B.
- Intentional Teamkilling: Instant Kick / Ban.
- Racial slurs, extreme language or obvious immature behaviour: Instant Kick / Ban depending on severity.
The reporting system is based fully trust. That means admins need to place full trust into the members to send in reports that are not greyline, and/or falsed information. Greyline reports sould always come in the from of a PM or chat via TS. Only clear violations should be used in the games chat system.
Special Notes:
Most reports come in under trusted means by the reporter as a eyewitness to the reportee and as a expert in the rule violated. What does that mean? That means you know the rule that was broken and there was no element of doubt of the rule violation. That also means you are being trusted not to falseify the report of the violation.
False reports are going to be delt with. They will be taken in the most serious fasion because the violator borken the bounds of trust. This is serious and can end up to a timed banned for the first violation.
Overall, make sure you know the rule that was broken. Make sure there is no reasonable doubt (was that a RDX jeep or someone who picked up a jeep with RDX on it?). If your unsure of a violation, tell us your unsure. We'll still check into it but atleast your covered and we don't take action upon someone who might be mistaken. Don't be scared to make questionable reports ("I think Player_001 Has a RDX jeep and might be bunnyhopping").Last edited by FBmantis; 03-14-2011 at 03:29 AM. Reason: update admins
