No bleed

If you are on a map with only ONE UCB: and you are not the team that has it, stop attacking. If you are on the team that does have it, you only need to get ONE other flag and then stop attacking.

This game is silly - the assault maps have no bleed. I guess everyone else knew this but I was just sort of ignorant.

The only maps that have bleed are when both teams have a UCB, then taking and holding the majority of the flags is important.

Re: No bleed

Aye, I have no idea what the reasoning is behind the no bleed business. With any luck it's an oversight that'll be fixed in a patch.

edit: No, I just saw on another forum one of the level designers explaining the bleed situation like there's nothing wrong with it. Hmmph.

Re: No bleed

It was like this in regular bf2 until we modded the bleed scripts.

Re: No bleed

I think EA has done this to "dumb-down" the game for the masses. It would be great if we could have some modifications on the server, but with all of us trying to make ranks right now we have to have a ranked server sadly

Re: No bleed

Well, we don't have to...but we choose to Unless we have 100+ BF2142 active members, we'd never fill a 64 player non-ranked server. A 30-40 player game can be OK, but it just doesn't compare to the battles at 64. And below 30 just gets boring. Probably only a mod would become popular enough to get other people to join a non-ranked.

EA did its job. It found a way to require clans/communities to have to buy a server from EA. It's all about the $

Re: No bleed

Another bug is the glitching/spawning through forcefields/blast doors on the Titans. I saw someone exploit this on our server on the weekend, and destroyed our console 3 while console 1 was still active and defended. Unfortunately there were no admins around, and the guy was still bunnyhopping around for several rounds after.

Walkers can also sometimes 'trip,' and it's impossible to right them. I've seen this twice, and I think this might have to do with repairing them while they are at very low health.

Re: No bleed

What about making maps with two ucbs more common in the rotation?

Re: No bleed

I like the lack of bleed. On a regular bleed map if you commit to a poorly executed assault the extra losses you inflicted on your team can be soaked up by the bleed and damage you do to the enemy trying to retake the flag. If your defending a flag you can be getting completely pounded but there's no reason to retreat because the bleed is equalizing the losses. On a non-bleed map you have to be more cautious because those unnescessary losses while defending or attacking can turn into a Pyrrhic victory.
