Memorable Moments

I sure a lot of the BF vets have some stories to tell and I'm wondering what were the most amusing moments you wish you could've recorded just to watch later for laughs.

Example:

I was low on ammo and health while sitting on top of a building next to a silo we lost on the Titan MP demo. Pretty nice capture too. Enemy Troopship landed, 7 guys piled out and wiped out the defense, capped the silo, then ran back and boarded the troopship again. Since I was the CO because no one else applied for the job I ordered an EMP strike on the troopship out of spite. Troopship took off, EMP hit, Troopship fell like a rock, and 7 people were no more in the aftermath. Had a few people screaming over all chat about where the heck the mystery EMP came from.

Another fun moment was when I was driving around in the PAC hover tank. I lost control for a moment while dueling with an enemy APC because of the EMP grenade. Blew up the APC and fell off the ledge to land on an enemy jeep that was driving by. Against all logic my tank blew up and the jeep drove off.

Just to be informative (not bashing you), threads like this should be in the 'after action reports' forum.

Re: Memorable Moments

I think it's good here. But in all fairness, the game is so new, there's probably not going to be many of those moments yet. Bf2 or PoE2 vets probably have quite a few, however.

Re: Memorable Moments

The other night I killed a guy 5 times and a medic revived him 4 times. I was only a few feet away and the medic would scurry to cover between revives. I was standing in the open and the medic never saw me. It was pretty funny. I finally finished off the medic.

Not had that happen in 2142 yet, but I love it when that happens in BF2. The guy getting revived gets so annoyyed.

Re: Memorable Moments

During a titan attack, I stormed a lower level corridor with another soldier. He died from a frag from a sole defender. The defender was pushed back to before the opening to the console so I sprinted to take cover in the console area. I waited and hoped that the defender would throw another frag. He did and I ran out as I saw the frag coming in. The defender was defenseless so he got a face full of lead.

Re: Memorable Moments

I actually like Titan more than conquest since you can amass quiet a few points per round. As CO I'm usually getting 70-120 and on my own around 50-80. Gotta love repairing EVERYTHING the comes by. ^_^

Another fun time:

I was zoomed in and providing some close quarters support as the CO from the Titan. Dropped an EMP on a tank so the ground squad could finish it off then a UAV to spot all the infantry. Figured I might as well go for broke and gave them a supply drop as well. Unfortunately a troopship filled with 5/7 flies in to try and help, hits the falling supply crate, and explodes killing all aboard. Err...whoops.

Not so funny but on a similar trend I was dropping a supply crate to a solo walker after it finished polishing off 2 tanks (EMPed both for him) and an APC. Saddly he walked right under the crate and it landed on the walker. The crate went bouncy bounce and the walker went boom.

Re: Memorable Moments

I once played a 20 player server with 16 player maps on Verdun. Each team starts with a walker. I jumped in ours and came face to face with the enemy walker. I got it badly damaged and he bailed, but I saw the walker wasn't quite on fire, so I jumped out to repair the abandoned enemy walker and left my copilot to pilot the one I just left.

Once I repaired it, a teammate jumped in the enemy walker I captured and my copilot wouldn't relinquish the seat in the walker I left. So, there I am, victorious against the enemy, capturing his asset and left high and dry by my teammates with nothing to show for it but a single repair point.

No matter, I thought, at least with both walkers at full health, we will be sure to win the round.

Both walkers were destroyed within 5 minutes in the hands of unskilled pilots and we lost the round. Ah, the joys of pubbing.

Re: Memorable Moments

my most memorable moment was on one of the desert maps (with the long bridge).
My squad was on the far west side of the bridge, and our CO ordered us to take a flag at the far east of the map. We jumped in a FAV, and saw 2 walkers heading across the bridge for us. The enemy CO launched an arty strike right before the bridge and I gunned it, avoided arty fire, threaded between the two walkers and then turned right too soon. I ended up going over one of the small hills off the road. There was an enemy FAV following us who did the same thing, but was hurt more by the arty fire. I was playing support, so when we came to a stop, we bailed the FAV just to see the other FAV jump the small hill in midair, smoking and burning from damage.
Using the bianchi, i pumped some rounds into it, and it blew in mid air, with its 3 occupants flying.
I nearly crapped my pants.

Re: Memorable Moments

I had a similar experience on that same map with a FAV. My SL, the driver, hopped in a FAV and decided to gun it across the bridge to the west side because we weren't holding anything on the east side and getting no where.

The moment we get on the bridge, 2 enemy walkers and a tank appear moving across it. The SL hits the nitro and swerves back and forth across the bridge. Somehow we miraculously avoided the fire of the tank and 2 walkers and came out on the other side of the bridge unharmed. The whole time I'm screaming over VoIP from the gunner seat that we're going to die We ended up capping the far west base and then taking the base next to the bridge. We didn't lose it for the rest of the round.

So sometimes it pays off just to hop in a FAV and gun it through the midst of the battle.

Re: Memorable Moments

The one for me in my short 2142 career came on Minsk. I was participating in a mad scramble to cap silos after our titan's shield went down so I was riding in a dropship over silo 3 and I bail out in a pod to cap the flag while the dropship goes to another silo. As I'm falling I see a little PAC soldier near the silo to the left of my landing trajectory so I guide my pod in his direction and land right on top of him, getting a 'You killed SoandSo" message at the bottom of my screen. I was too busy laughing however and got killed by his squadmate a few seconds later but it was definitely worth it.

I don't think it was the same instance. You were trying to get east. The FAV I was in was definitely going west.
