Totally up for an unranked night or two in the week. I have all the unlocks I want, the only real question is if you get field upgrades on an unranked server. If we do, then even better, if we don't.. Oh well, I have most of my toys anyway

I was just going to suggest we had a password night on the ranked server. But unranked would be really great. Get some of the TG changes in. Maybe we can have both. One night a week with password on the ranked server and one night unranked server. I think the idea to populate the Ranked server is great I also thought of an idea to have a message with a link posted on the ranked server to our forum/SOP and connection info to the unranked server the night we are running the unranked game. This way we can get more people to join the unranked.

I got the unlocks I need, I think its time to play fully the TG way.

I suggest wednesday, friday.

We cannot password the ranked server. That would be a breach on the terms you have to agree on in order to run a ranked server.

It's sad that the points which promote squad/team play is probably what's going to kill it for TG, since without the auto player kick script, auto squad script and various map changes, like bleed on all maps, it makes our server no better than any other for playing.

i disagree with this, the TG servers are already alot better then other servers in terms of teamwork and the people who play on there, TG and non TG alike. The conquest server already has a very large daily playerbase, and being able to play with the same people every day just makes this game even better.

just my 2 cents though

I'd agree with Calun's point. I've had some great games on the TG ranked server and I'm starting to see some non-TG players stay for round after round. Yes, there has been some bad players, but my personal experience on our ranked server has been very positive.

Though, I still would be up for a pass-worded non-ranked TG night. I believe we can have our cake and eat it too.

I was definitely exagerating when I said it's no better than any other server, but it is nowhere near the level it could be if we were free to make the same changes we have with regular BF2 and POE2 servers. Regular work by our Admins controlling squading and user reports is great, but not enough to save this game, IMO.

You know what? After having a good deal of "nub, haxor, powners" invading the TG servers with their so called "skillz", I think it's about time a game of Battlefield returned to the way it's supposed to be on TG: unranked. You know, at first I was skeptical about TG when my sister Penguineer told me about it and it's unranked status (I was kinda worried about my points then), but when it came down to it points and unlocks didn't matter. In a game like this, teamwork is well rewarded, if not an absolute must. It's hard to do the whole teamwork thing with 4-6 1-man squads and a bunch of lone wolfs, so I'm all for a night of unranked TG-style play.

I've been batting around the idea of becoming a supporting member, so I guess that shows ya how much TG changed my mind about how to play this game.

P.S. Can any of you Photoshop savy people make me an avatar? I've been trying forever to do one myself, but the latest version of Photoshop I have is like 7.0. I'm trying to put a fedora with a press card in the ribbon of the hat on the Master Chief from Halo, but it never comes out right. Please help me out. If a supporting member does it, I may just pitch in the $10 a month to be one myself, but I'm making no promises. ;-)

I'm a little new to the community, so I have to ask... does unranked = no unlocks?

Having an 'even' playing field as far as unlocks go would be pretty fun, I think. Getting a chance to play solely with others interested in teamwork and coordination would be even better. This TG newbie would definitely be interested.

In this case, an unmodded unranked server means you still keep the unlocks you have, you just can't earn any more.

My understanding is that even if unranked, a BF2142 server can't be modded without being taken off the list. That's the last I heard when there was a discussion about ranked/unranked. I wonder about minimods. I think those will still be on the list? That might be the answer to our problems.

I would have more fun playing 6 nights unranked and only 1 ranked lol. But hé , thats just me ;-)
I seen a guy getting 1300 points in ONE round last n8 lol , and i dont speak about badges etc . Its realy pathetic how ppl abuse glitches to rank up.

Looking forward to some TG play ;-)

If you notice that again, take a screenshot of the scoreboard and submit it to EA, TG server or not.

If we are running an unranked server with a password is it possible we can use the all unlock function (if it still exists) so people can get a chance to try out unlocks they don't have? This might encourage really good turnout!

Lately, I have trouble finding good games on TG lately, due to the influx of people who don't care to communiticate and work together. Moreover, the influx of new people have begun using the TG tag and not abbiding by TG standards, at least in my experience. Standard servers also have been depressing. I would be willing to give up all the unlocks in the game for better gameplay.

If another method can be found to screen out the non-cooperatives while keeping the unlocks, I would also be for it. But at the moment, it seems like unranked play is the only way.

how did he get 1300, my best round is like a 90, and that was alot of work.

The only time i have a problem with the TG servers is around 2am when most people are off, we had a bunch of theifing and camping the non capable base, we have screenshots though! somewhere ;/
