Re: Learn TG Squad(s) Pledge

Hey I only had about a half a cup of coffee when I posted this morning lol. Anyway I went back and checked my settings and for some reason the settings for my voip weren't sticking. If I recheck yes for voip after each login, I seem to be good to go.

Re: Learn TG Squad(s) Pledge

I lead a few Learn TG squads over the weekend, along with the Experiment bom-hunting squad .

Re: Learn TG Squad(s) Pledge

This is definitely a good idea. I've already been in several of the Learn TG squads and it has been a rewarding experience to learn how TG operates as a squad(s).

BTW, Hey Acid

Re: Learn TG Squad(s) Pledge

I'm a casual BF2142'er but I did get on for a bit last night. I was fortunate enough to get into a squad with FKD that was called Learn TG. Its not that I'm new to TG tactics or protocols but it's sooooo much more fun to be with a group that working together. Now if I could just figure out my it wasn't allowing me to customize my loadout?

Also, I'm not sure why but I got kicked to "make room for a supporting member". I guess it wouldn't be a big deal normally but I am a supporting member

Re: Learn TG Squad(s) Pledge

I perceived a definite rise in server quality this weekend
I think this has been due to lots of learn TG squads plus our server is getting bookmarked by team players once they experience what we have to offer

So keep up the good "Learn TG" work

Put your 2142 id in your TG profile.

That might have been my fault Bear, so many names unless I recognize an SM, or there is a TG tag in front of the name...it becomes quite a nightmare to decide who to kick. I usually kick the one who has been on the longest. Again sorry, if you get on TS and let me kow I can correct those kinds of errors.

Re: Learn TG Squad(s) Pledge

I like the initiative for creating Learn TG squads. It really spreads the TG love and doesn't leave that 7th TG player all alone.

Re: Learn TG Squad(s) Pledge

I second (er, third?) the observation of improved squad play over this weekend. I remember in the one squad I lead on Sunday, mikeski/skidakiller was in it and was one heck of a teamplayer, despite having no voice at the time. Had the squad on defense the entire round at one flag, and they kept 'em off the flag, even despite multiple sneaky attempts by the OpFor TG squad with Tempest, BHack, and Arf. I personally did terrible, but the squad was the best on our side

Now, I just need to remember to put on the |TG| tags before I log in.

Re: Learn TG Squad(s) Pledge

It's an excellent idea for that TG squad of 6 to split into 2 or 3 Learn TG squads. Once you have 2 people following orders and interacting with the SL, usually everyone else in the squad will follow. If not, I suppose you can give them a warning and then kick them out of your squad to make room for someone else who wants to be a part of the team.

When I do SL, I'll be sure to call it LearnTG and I'll try not to be so taciturn

TG_Bear,
That's unforunately one of the downfalls of manual admin kicking to make room for squad members. It's impossible for admins to know everyone who is a SM and so once in awhile they will kick someone they should not.

Re: Learn TG Squad(s) Pledge

A Learn TG squad with 3 TGers and 3 visitors all working together, in effect doubles the number of teamplayers on the server

Oiy, I feel so lost as a squad leader sometimes. I still don't know the "TG Way" too well yet, although I did pick up some from the Learn TG squads I've been in.

The easiest way to do that is issuing orders. I was in a squad tonight where the SL didn't assign orders at all. While he was somewhat talkative, it was very confusing without any issued orders. With orders, other TG squad members can at least check for a reminder where to be and organize themselves.
