Stat padders (on a non TG server) - Page 2

If we EVER catch people doing stats padding like that on TGservers it is an INSTA BAN(and a permanent one). It IS a cheat, how else would you explain that a good round for a top notch player is around 100 points while a person with no kills gets 2000. I have banned 5 people for doing this on our titan server and it gives me great comfort to do it......

I just caught 6 stat padders on our titan server. One guy tried to entice me to stat pad and when I said screenshots would be taken he left. The others didn't seem to notice and I promptly took a bunch of screenshots.

EA's support link was most helpful to explain what to send them and how.

I saw some people on a pub server doing the hover-over-titan thing the other day. I was just watching the score page and they were getting around 5 points a second while they were doing it. Pah.

Seriously, go to www.2142-stats.com and look at the high score page. Click on any one of the people on the first page and look at their awards section. They have like 3500x troop transporter pins. I checked back again today and the highest people from yesterday had their stats reset. Pretty sad. You can also see it from their k/d ratio, which is sometimes 2, but usually lower than 1.

Lorian, it has something to do with the titan troop transport pin, so I believe you get a squad in the helo and just swich seats a lot and cycle through the driver seat as you hover over the titan. Very stupid way to get points, and it can't be as fun as destroying people with the walker

I tried this to see if it was true. Granted I only fired when I saw enemy and had a reason to fire, which was pretty constant, but I still only got around 30 points from ammo supply. I don't see it giving someone over 200 in a round even if they constantly fired each gun. There were other people in the game with a higher score than me.

I don't believe people placing ammo pods at the titan turrets is an exploit. They may do something else to get the score real high, but a supply crate alone doesn't do it.

You can get a really high score by resupplying or healing or reviving, etc.

At this rate, we won't be seeing a "Supreme Commander" anytime soon. In fact we might not have any Supreme Commander when the next sequel releases. Then again, would anyone have gotton some of those rediculous awards (the ones where it requires like 8000 ground kills, 8000 hours in this and that, and 8000 this or that)?

And stat padders are a problem. They contribute to the EU/PAC side loosing a particular round or series of rounds. So I think BAN is more than acceptable.

I said it earlier in the thread as well, but hovering over the titan while passengers switch seats in the transport gives everyone involved driver ability and/or driver ability assist points.

I think Telorn means it's easy to acquire a 100 points while defending a titan, not using an exploit. He just doesn't want honest players mistakenly identified as a stat padder. It could happen but more likely to a player that was commanding since they get points according to how well the rest of the team does.
