Re: Mines and FF

I don't think I was punished last night. It was a good night. I did get a series of 'Team vehicle damage' warnings. I'm not even sure from what.

The HUD will show an enemy spawn beacon as friendly too. This kind of stuff was happening in BF2 too. After one of the patches.

If there is an admin on, and someone intentionally teamkilling is reported, they will be Dealt With. On the other hand, if there is no admin present, punishing intentional TKs gets them kicked from the server sooner.

Re: Mines and FF

You shouldn't punish regardless. You were the one that ran into their mines. If they intentionally placed them there to TK you, then report them, but you shouldn't punish for an accident.

EDIT: jesus, 4 posts got in before mine?

I do think it's disturbing that you can see enemy beacons on the HUD (I think I see them more than 50% of the time). I feel bad when I destoy ones I notice that way, but I can hardly ignore them.

Re: Mines and FF

It's quite a shame, worse than the red tag bug. We will see how the FF change plays itself out.

Re: Mines and FF

I hate that enemy beacons have the same icon as friendly beacons. Numerous times now I've had friendlies destroy my beacon thinking it was an enemy's, and I've probably done the same.

Re: Mines and FF

The only way to make sure it is enemy is to wait for something to drop out of the sky on it, but then that would be considered spawn camping to be waiting.

Re: Mines and FF

Yes, the spawn beacon icons showing up on the HUD needs mucho fixing. I've had squad members blow up my beacon right after they dropped in, thinking it was an enemy beacon . Plus, when I see an enemy one, I don't know whether I should pretend I don't see it, cause I shouldn't be able to or act on it because my purposely letting them spawn there is giving them a pretty unfair advantage. Sigh... you'd think they'd be able to figure that one out...

Re: Mines and FF

Do you have any tips on determining if a beacon is friendly or foe, because I can't tell a difference.

Re: Mines and FF

OK. Please turn off FF on mines!!!!!

Last night my motion mines exploded on friendly vehicles 3 times. Once when I was the driver of the vehicle. No EMP mines went off. The motions just decided to commit treason. If motion mines were this buggy on determining friendly vehicles, the military would have never released them

I got a chuckle out of that one.

I agree that as long as the HUD is as buggy as it is in determining friend or foe mines their ff should be turned off.

One thing that I see alot ALOT. Is me been carful and crouching up a stair or around a corner where I believe there is an APM and in comes a random person to blow us both up.

That pisses me off so much. It's in the same category of finding a nice discrete firing position and having some guy come along and start spamming away with his machine gun.

Don't draw fire, it annoys your teammates.

Lord, yes. In last night's game I had some random guy jump into my hovertank and start blazing away at absolutely nothing with the antipersonnel cannons.

FFS, don't draw fire to my tank. Especially now, with Engineers who can actually kill your tank (unlike, in my opinion, the anti-tank class in BF2) AND battlewalkers roaming around.

If you're quiet and sneaky in a tank, you can really show up out of nowhere and ruin someone's day. Hold your damn load. That goes for ANY vehicle.
