Changes to server configurations
The Conquest server has been changed to a maximum of 50 players, to reduce the frag-fest nature of some of the maps and hopefully improve gameplay. Additionally, the combined arms maps (i.e., vehicle maps) have been changed to the 32-player versions. Finally, Berlin and Minsk have been reintroduced into the map rotation as a trial.
The Titan server has been completely revamped, and is now a 32-player infantry maps server, playing the 64-player versions of the maps. Hopefully these changes will encourage tactical gameplay and teamwork. We'll be keeping an eye on things and possibly making more tweaks once we see how things are working out. Also, we'll be checking out the FF issue with motion mines; if their behaviour is inconsistent we'll look at disabling friendly-fire for mines for the time being. ![]() |

Re: Changes to server configurations
I really enjoyed the conquest server last night at 50 players. The vehicle maps were well sized and you weren't flag hopping while always missing each other and the ground troop maps are now not so over powering if you're on the 'right' side.
The typical losing side of a map was able to break through the lines and have a fair chance at winning in all the maps.

Re: Changes to server configurations
After 2 rounds of being utterly anihilated in infantry maps on the regular server, I went to try and seed the 32 man Infantry server. Me and LuckyStrike were on there for about a half an hour testing the limits of the walkers but nobody else showed up, other than one guy complaining about the admins on the 50 main server.
OT, but people still haven't seemed to figure out that the walkers can go through any water without dying.

I posted this last night on other thread as this seems to be the thread where we talk about the server changes:
Tonight I played Cerbere Landing, Minsk, Suez Canal, Camp Gibraltar and Belgrade. I'm happy to report that the reduction in players has made for a better game and TG experience. I was able to move and move my squads around the maps at a steadier pace which allowed for a bit more planning. Also the reduction allowed choke points not to be one sided as say Camp G and Minsk have been in the past. My squads broke through on all the choke points! Of note on Camp Gibraltar and Cerbere Landing it was less of a frag fest and I was able to move my squad without dying every minute which was the case before the player reduction. Today I also remembered that there seemed to be less squads and more players joining full six squads which is a good thing. Also I had less lag and rubber banding with less players but I'm only guessing that less players would improve connection. I'm anxious to play Berlin with the changes as it's my favorite. I have yet to play the new Titan server so I'll give some feedback when I play. We made the correct decision in changing the player count on the maps. The rounds felt and played more like our style at TG.

Re: Changes to server configurations
And on the plus side, it doesn't even feel as if we've dropped 14 slots. In fact, I find the vehicle maps better now because we're able to run them on the 32 player map size.
