Actually that just happened today, which is now fixed. As of the time of me logging in, I was a supporting member. You misunderstood. I wasn't having an issue staying connected to the server (due to being kicked). I wasn't able to connect to the server at ALL because all 50 slots were taken. I'd have to fight for the 49th or 50th slot so the script could kick a non SM out.

I was saying why not make more than just 2 additional slots for the script to manage.

And I actually noticed that I lost my SM the moment I made my post I was like, what the?? Don't know why..funds were available. I just had to cancel the recurring subscription and started a new one.

The more slots we have, the more churn we're going to have. We're still working on the tweaking though, so give us a few days to get everything worked out.

Re: Reserved Slots for Supporting Members

Like I said, still better this way than making an admin stop their game to let me in. And I really appreciate the work.

It doesn't take more than 30-90 secs of constantly trying to connect to be able to get in.

Double check your BF2142 PID for the player you're using to log on to TG and wait at least 15 minutes after entering it before expecting it to work for you. If you're still having troubles, report back to me by sending an e-mail to support at tactialgamer dot com.

Re: Reserved Slots for Supporting Members

I believe the way the server works (as explained) is that we have an 'open' server of 48/50. When a supporting member signs on the server checks the original 48 and initiates the kick script to make room. This kicks a nonSM and drops the server back to 48/50. If the original 48 are all SM then the new SM takes up the 49/50 spot. If a nonSM tries to sign on the 50th spot it will automatically kick them because the server will keep trying to kick nonSMs to drop the count back to 48. If a SM tries to sign on the 50th spot and the other 49 are SMs then rejoice because you have just filled the server with 50 paying members.

Also the server selection list leaves a LOT to be desired. If you keep the TG server on your favorites list (I know I do) then the information conserning it will not update or refresh...ever. You can see a 45/48 Titan server all night only to sign on to see it utterly empty. The only way to get an accurate count is to hit the server information button (the [i]) and count the people in the server already...or quit the game and login again.

you can also go to advanced search and search under server name 'tacticalgamer' , refresh & update then give correct information

That doesn't always work for me. Nothing will come up when I put in tacticalgamer sometimes. Even though I can see my buddies playing.

The browser isn't very good.

Double and triple checked, and the number's been on my profile since the slot-kick was put in place. Today's the first time I've tried to play since this all started, and I cannae get in - the server is 50/50 and there are many names I don't recognize on - I doubt they're all SMs. Other than bugging Apophis (who is presumably a busy chap) what else can I do?

Re: Reserved Slots for Supporting Members

50/50 means that the open slots are clogged with pubbies. Just wait a few moments until you can join with less than 50.. If you are able to start to join, you should not be kicked. If you still are kicked, you need to report it.

Maus, you need to give the script 10 seconds to work. Keep trying again for about 10 seconds, then if it still doesn't let you in, logon to TS and tell a 2142 admin to make room for you.

Re: Reserved Slots for Supporting Members

All it is mate is lots of other people trying to join what they percieve as a 48/50 server - so the pubbie players hammer the join button - maybe 10 at once and it locks everyone out as a full server. They all cannot obviously join so you just have a keep hitting join, [serverfull], ok, connect to IP 64.34.161.22 [copy and paste the ip with ctrl+V], join, - keep cycling through and you will get in eventually.

Re: Reserved Slots for Supporting Members

This is why i suggested possibly making it 56 or more. Sure, it'll keep kicking pubbies out at 49, but it gives us supporting members a better chance to get in (6 or 8 slots instead of 2). Sometimes I've been sitting there for over 60 secs constantly hitting the join button to try and get in and an admin on TS was not available to help.

And a message can be placed on the loading screen that explains that people will be kicked from server if 48 exist. This will help people understand why they were dropped and possibly stop them from trying again because they just thought it as a BF2142 fluke, which isn't unbelievable
