Re: Reserved Slots for Supporting Members

Worked for me today when I came in at 47/48, I think Panzer fixed my problem earlier... I used to get the Idle PB kicks while loading (Once day map takes 10 mins to load, I think its PBUpdate)

Re: Reserved Slots for Supporting Members

I don't mean to be the squeaky wheel but I have a question.

I have been a supporting member since joining. I added my BF2142 player ID to my profile a little less than a week ago. I have never encountered a problem where the server was full until today.

As I understand it... as a SM and with my player ID in my User CP profile... shouldn't someone who is non TG get booted to make space for me? If so, then I think I have done something wrong in finding my player ID because it didn't work. If I am wrong in my understanding than could someone explain it to me?

Again I apologize if this is an ignorant question but I couldn't find an answer in this thread.

There's a problem with the server-side script, apparantly. You can check the link here, in the Technical forum, for more information: http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlef...to-kicker.html

Hope this helps! (I'm also a SM and finding the server full has definitely been an interesting experience to work around.)

Aruncado. Sometimes the server could be filled with SMs. In that case, there is no one to kick, so you'd have to wait. Of course it is rare, but I've encountered it once or twice.

Re: Reserved Slots for Supporting Members

I don't think we can currently afford another server due to the recent addition of ArmA and the inherent high costs of maintaining another box.

Re: Reserved Slots for Supporting Members

Guys, remember, we already have 2 servers. Granted one is NS, but seriously, 10 bucks? It's not that much to spend on a one time purchase in exchange for having a whole second server to play on when the first one gets overfull.

One question; if the server is filled up 52/52 spots, is it normal that it comes up with a "cannot connect, server is full" even for a supporting member?

The way this works is that if the server is really full (meaning 52/52) the game itself will not allow anyone to join the server, which is why the script usually holds two buffer slots open. The auto-kick script only kicks so fast, so if you get people joining in quickly it can completely fill the server temporarily while the script is working its magic. Once a few moments go by the script will kick people back down to the "nominal full" of 50/52. This will allow two more people to join in.

So, yes, in some cases where people are joining the server rapidly you will get the game-generated "server is full" message, but in a litlle while you should be able to join (unless, as previously stated, all 50 slots are filled with SMs.)

Re: Reserved Slots for Supporting Members

Yeah when I see the 52/52 or sometimes 53/52 I usually just wait a few mins, I think only once it was full for like a hour with alot of SM's.. but most of the time like Waffle said you will get in, since its kicking the non-SM's out.. Thats what got me to become SM, I would always have great sessions and boom, im kickbanned for a SM guy

Re: Reserved Slots for Supporting Members

Just joined the SM ranks. I must say, it feels good to join the TG server without fear of being kicked to make room.
