I don't play titan because...
What's everybody's opinion on the titan game type? There seems to be very little TG interest in keeping the server filled. Some have expressed their problems with lag or poor framerates. Is that the general consensus with titan?
I'd play titan all the time but it gets boring after seeding the server for 30 minutes with only a few others joining in.

I enjoy titan, but think it will play better when they get the patch in that prevents titan movement after the shields go down.

Now, I have absolutely no problems whatsoever. 100+ FPS at all times. But before with my old rig, I had serious stuttering on the titan when it was moving. I can imagine this pisses alot of people off.

I spent over an hour playing on the Titan server and really enjoyed the change of pace from the Conquest game. However, for some reason, my computer choked on these games. Enemy soldiers were sliding across the battlefield, my screen would turn solid white upon entering secondary positions in vehicles, and my screen would just freeze for several seconds at odd intervals.
Even though I have no problem playing any of the Conquest games, I consulted the various tweak guides available on the Internet to try and resolve the problem. Sadly, nothing seemed to work for me. What is even more upsetting is that my computer seems to have no problem on other Titan servers.
Technical problems aside, I do enjoy the Titan game mode and hope more people start frequenting this server, after the upcoming patch is released to address some of its problems.

The problem with titan mode is the sheer number of moving parts in a match. In a change a pace we now have a vehicle you can jump in and out of AND stand on without falling off or dying. This causes a problem because for every inch the titan moves everyone and everything on the titan has to move with it.
Personally I have no problem with titan servers since I bought a kick ass new computer with all the bells and whistles. However the indestructable spawn beacons are annoying at times.My sanity is not in question...
It was a confirmed casualty some time ago.

i hate titan because its a armor playground, and even when its not armor its face to face in a 3 foot wide hallway, witch means i cant SNIPER!
otherwise its ok to test fly but overall the titan isnt all that much fun.
on a side note can you get the pin for surviving the titan yet?

I happen to like Titan Sarc, and I did figure out that my fps does suffer during it. But of late, everytime I'm on the Titan server I'm on for well over 40 mins seeding it only to never seeing more than 5 peeps on. We should get a group of TGs to seed the titan server on one weekend day every weekend to bring activity back to it.

I seeded the server with 3 others today for about an hour. It's tough getting a game going. I joined just now and a player began stat padding. I told everybody that I'd be taking screenshots and a player (not stat padding) left. That ended the ranked round and I reported the stat padder. It's a shame. Originally Posted by Acreo Aeneas
For those that are lagging (ping, not FPS), we can improve it by getting TG players that are interested in titan to command. We know that moving the titan when players are on it lags the game. If I'm commanding, I move the titan early in the round. By the time the shields go down, I stop moving the titan. If TG players are commanding, we can ensure the titan will not move after the shields are down.

Titan mode rocks, BECAUSE it has so many moving parts.
But, as someone else in this thread already pointed out, there's tremendous lag when a Titan gets moved because when it gets moved, everything on it gets moved. That a large amount of data because uploaded and downloaded, stretching a lot of broadband connections to the limit.

I also try to move the titan either early in the round or not move it at all. And it does sorta suck commanding in Titan mode, but without a commander, it's hard to coordinate a widespread battle plan. Besides, with one, at least you can slow down enemy armor movement by dropping some emp strikes.

I was on our titan server on Saturday and had a blast. It just doesn't compare to any other server when you play it with TG.
Sarc kept killing me in the reactor room from the upper levels with those stupid rifle rockets.
My favorite match was when we were losing and boarded their titan to buy us some breathing room. They held all the silos our titan was just about to blow with the final rocket being launched in 20 seconds. The squad was decimated and holding out in their reactor room as they were pushing for a counter attack to clear us out. After blowing a full load of RDX we knocked their titan down to critical level then our squad's support guy gave me enough RDX to blow their titan seconds before ours lit up from a silo rocket. It was beautiful.
One thing that came to my attention from Sarc's constant bombardment was how unfair those rifle rockets are. Did you know you can damage the reactor with the airburst? He was just sitting up there on the upperdeck out of sight whittling away at our titan reactor. I had to resort to 'spray-n-pray' with my machine gun to take him out. -.-My sanity is not in question...

Whoa, I didn't know those rockets did anything to the core. I wasn't even thinking about getting the angle to hit the core. I was just trying to kill you! It was definitely tough with your squad defending. I didn't know what my squad could do to get in the room with that kind of defense. That was a very good game. Originally Posted by Tarenth
