Re: PDS-1 - Do you deploy and do they work in conjunction with the Net Bat Vehicle?

The thing is you can have only 1 TYPE of area scanner in the works. If you deploy a PDS then you can deploy other PDS, but you can't use the UAV. If you deploy a UAV then you can't really deploy the PDS until the UAV is gone. It was really messing with me when I was Commanding on our server. That walker kept sucking up my scanning capabilities and people kept requesting UAVs that would do nothing.

Re: PDS-1 - Do you deploy and do they work in conjunction with the Net Bat Vehicle?

Tarenth is right. The bug with the PDS-1 has been confirmed in other BF2142 forums and a few nights ago, I also saw is effects. The acting commander had to ask me to discourage it's use among my squadmates. I was as confused as hell, but asked my Engineers to stop using it. Then I looked up the bug in the totalbf2142 forum.

It really is a shame because it is such a useful tool that I was planning on advancing up the Engineer tree so I could get THAT, not the Pilum AVR.

It's a pretty blatant bug; I'm sure that some of the DICE people know about this by now.

Between the Support Class's personal scanner, the squad leader's recon drone and the Engineer's PDS-1, a squad has the potential to have 100% situational awareness at all times. I really hope that DICE fixes this soon so that we can use all the cool toys.

Wow thats bad.. I guess I will stop throwing this down on back flags. I was using it to spot those pesky lone-wolf jeep drivers. Usually you can get across a map and kill them before a flag turns if you spot them on the pds before they even start turing the flag.

I think I'll still usually place it when defending a flag, though. I'm more concerned about seeing those vehicles coming in so I can position behind them than an infantry squad moving in.

Now it would probably be a different story if most squads moved as a fireteam. But that usually doesn't happen...they trickle in a couple at a time instead, which is manageable
