Turkey Day - Fill up your belly and the servers
Stuffed from all the stuffing you ate? Need to get away from the stress of family? Why not celebrate Thanksgiving by immobilizing a fellow TGer's Battle Walker with an EMP grenade?
For those TG'ers living outside the US, Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 23rd and is a holiday where a large bird is eaten. Please join us in the celebration which should last throughout the day.
Let's all get together. I'll form the Learn Turkey squad.|TG-9th| TheFatKidDeath

Thanksgiving is the non-religious general family holiday of the year. The only requirements are lots of turkey and perhaps some pie!

Thanksgiving is the best US holiday (IMHO). Usually Thursday through Sunday off. It's always the 4th Thursday in November.

For the turkey...rofl...that is a good laugh. And indeed it is "for" the turkey in some way...we eat it

It has end up as a for family and life in general that we give thanks and for others still, it is more religious. Usually it involves large family and/or relative gatherings with a turkey (or several) and a huge dinner (perhaps even the heart clogging type) where more or less, everyone has a good time and pigs out.Acreo Aeneas

Re: Turkey Day - Fill up your belly and the servers
It's a fall harvest festival American style.
"Thanksgiving, or Thanksgiving Day is an annual one-day holiday to give thanks (traditionally to God) at the close of the harvest season. In the United States, Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. In Canada, it is celebrated on the second Monday in October. In the United Kingdom, Thanksgiving is another name for the Harvest festival, held in churches across the country on a relevant Sunday to mark the end of the local harvest, though it is not thought of as a major event (compared to Christmas or Easter) as it is in other parts of the world. This tradition was taken to North America by early settlers, where it became much more important."

Thanksgiving is the one of the many good things that happen to me when I moved from Sweden to the US. 4 days off and great food. So I give thanks to those pilgrims that started the whole thing. Thank you!

Re: Turkey Day - Fill up your belly and the servers
But you don't work longer days/weeks and have less holiday/vacation overall? Maybe not Sweden, but I hear most European country employees aren't pushed as hard or demanded to work as many hours, as most US companies require of you (at least if you want to move up).
