- Patching update message will shut the game down instead of minimize if EA Link is installed on users machine

- Titan no longer moveable by the Commander once Titan shields are down
- Installer checks for BF2142 running in the background before installing patch

Take note of that; do not have BF2142 running when you install the patch. Check to make sure the game's shut down. The last patch created a HUGE clusterf_ck on my HDD because I didn't realize BF2142 was minimized and not shut down.

Trust me. The game would then not properly recognize the patch, so I had to uninstall, clean out all the BF2142 key entries in my registry, THEN reinstall. Otherwise the installation would not properly work because of the unfortunate number of registry keys that uninstalling BF2142 does not remove.

Save yourself the trouble.

I also had the problem of clicking the button to download the patch (within the game) and downloaded the patch....I thought it odd that the game just minimized and that I should probably close the game before running the patch, but then I thought, "Well DICE had the game minimize when i clicked the 'download patch' button so it must be OK." Damn was I wrong! I too had to reinstall the game...but I didn't have to clear the registry to get it working.

I've heard rumours that it'll be out this afternoon.

Seems like most of the problems have been addressed. Some issues I don't see fixed or aren't quite clear are the key mapping problems, exploiting into unaccessible titan areas, and stats exploits.

Except the major Titan lag problem...they haven't fixed it, they're just trying to work around it by not allowing people to move it while the most people are on it

Careful about this patch guys. Apparantly it was released on the main site but then pulled. Fileplanet currently has it for download but there are NUMEROUS reports all over the internet right now of upon installing this patch you can't even get past the intro videos. Methinks someone uploaded the wrong code. I'm currently waiting for it to be posted on the main BF2142 before downloading.

I just downloaded the patch from EA Link and experienced no problems with this method. However, I am unable to play on the TG server, because it is running the older version. That is not to say I am complaining, but to make everyone aware that installing the patch before the server has been updated will prohibit you from connecting to it.

I don't see it on EALink, but I don't see the 1.01 patch either. All I see is the BF2 1.41 patch. I'm not certain if I need to change something to get the BF2142 patches to show.

FYI. game patches on the serverside is handled by our ranked serverproviders. We do not have any control on that process.

I could not find the patch on the EA Link website either, but it does appear on the Home tab of the program itself.
