single or multi players--help needed
I just purchased bf 2142 and haven’t played it online but a few minutes, trying to get the feel for the game. I need some advice about this game. Being a little older than most tactical gamers, except for EO, I am not sure how to start playing this game. Should I play single player or would it be better to play online??? I am sure that my skill level is far below the players on the 2142 server and maybe I would be a disadvantage to my team mates. I was hoping that I could get a feel from you all how you would feel to have a player who, like me, that would have a large learning curve, playing on the server??? Also I am a supporting member and got kicked from the server “ for a supporting member” , I had added my bf 2142 ID to my profile is there anything else I should do to not kicked from the server??? Being a supporting members should I added the TG tag to my name or just play without them??? I haven’t play with a group before except for a short time playing SOF2—where I got my name I use “grandpa” because that’s what all the young guys in the clan called me. Enough with the questions—I just needed to ask. See you on the battlefield

Re: single or multi players--help needed
Bite the bullet and play with us online -- the single-player experience is severely limited in game size and doesn't have the unlocks, which are central to getting the most out of the game. Also, if you can get into a "Learn TG" squad (or even just a squad with some TG people in) you'll be able to pick things up pretty quickly.
![]() As for the supporting member kick, I don't know what to suggest other than that you could possibly have entered your PID incorrectly (it's meant to be an eight digit number - I only copied seven to my clipboard first time I did it). You'll be no more of a disadvantage to your teammates than I am, and I've been playing virtually since it came out ![]()

Re: single or multi players--help needed
Just remember to ask question we will be happy to help. I am planning to run a few TG squads this evening the TG way it should be a little slower and more centered on defence. Feel free to ask me any questions.

You do just fine in BF2, grandpa, so hop on to one of the 2142 servers!

Re: single or multi players--help needed
You'll do fine Pa, just play with us online, it's the best way to get your bearings up to par. The AI in skirmish isn't very well made, so it might leave you unprepared for MP battles.

Re: single or multi players--help needed
I played single for a few minutes when I got it single player, but really, if you can play BF2, you'll be fine in 2142.
