Re: Simple things DICE could do to make the game better
No pod drops on beacon spawns.
This is annoying for a variety of reasons. I'm not sure why it isn't handled like a squad leader spawn, where you just pop in out of non-existence rather than drop in a pod out of non-existence. It certainly isn't a "realism" issue. To oppose something is to maintain it

Re: Simple things DICE could do to make the game better
I understand that side of it, but we did fine in BF2 with players spawning on the SL, and there was no special animation for that. It added to the fun of maps like Fallen, hunting for the SL in the thicket.
The main issue I feel needs to be addressed though is the variance of dropping position. If DICE can keep pods and fix that then I'm fine with it. Maybe just lock the pod position so you always fall directly on the beacon. The problem with that of course is multiple squad members spawning at the same time would hit each other. So I don't know, but elminating pods altogether seems like the easiest route. To oppose something is to maintain it

I think some of you don't understand how the beacon works.
You still spawn on your SL if he hasn't put the beacon down just as you did in BF2.
If you put the beacon down, the SL no longer has to try and stay alive to be a spawn point, so he can just charge into battle with everyone else. The balance to this power is making people drop down in highly recognizable pods, so the enemy knows whats going on and from where.

and it actually gives SLs the chance of joining on on the killing fun. It's great! It's well balanced.

Re: Simple things DICE could do to make the game better
Yeah I know. My point is there's a problem with people using the beacon spawns to drop onto normally unreachable parts of the terrain, like the buildings on the some of the city maps for example. That's what I want to fix, the variance of where the player drops at. If there's a way to fix that while keeping the pods I'm all for it, because obviously there'd be a slight balance issue, although not much of one because people seem to rarely notice when soldiers keep repeatedly dropping out of the sky anyway. But that's a whole nother issue.

Re: Simple things DICE could do to make the game better
Here's one: Make it so the multi-ton bipedal weapons of war known as Battlewalkers don't freaking die from walking down a HILL!! Come on, I can understand if you took a jump with an FAV, but a legged-tank? Ever heard of gyros? How about shock absorbers? If it can walk up the hill, it sure ought to be able to walk down it again. Here is an idea: If you walk the thing over a hill, have it land and cushion its fall with it's legs, basically crouching to absorb the energy when it lands. Have any of you played MechAssault for the Xbox? If you have, you know that I am describing what happens when you land after using your jump jets. And it would be a cool and somewhat more realistic animation. What do you think?

I have a suggestion - maybe they can make communication on your squad channel lower 50% in volume when the commander is speaking. nothing harder than trying to communicate with commander when your squad is yabbering about whatever. this would also come in handy if, as previously suggested, SL to SL communication was added on that channel.

There needs to be an option of sending an admin message in big bold letters in the center of a specific player's screen.
When you can't run, you walk. When you can't walk, you crawl and when you can't do that, you get someone to carry you.

Re: Simple things DICE could do to make the game better
Fixing the horrible chat system. Right now the only way to talk is through VOIP, and that only really happens within a squad, or from CO to SL.
They need to move the chat to a new box where it stays up longer. Leave the commo-rose chat in its own box (So all the "spotted's" dont show up everywhere in our chat). And obviously keep the kills in their own box as well. Seriously what were they thinking with the chat system there is no way to reliably get any information across to people outside your squad.
Other than that, another very simple fix would be making it so we dont have to re-set equipment every time we load the game up.

I like this idea, but MechAssault is EVIL. Try out MechWarrior4 my friend and see some real mechs in action with real realism and not that crappy "pick up a power up and your CLMedLaser become ERCLLaser!" Like you could change your 2.5 weapon into a 4.0 ER upgraded weapon on the fly (Sorry I am a old mechwarrior and mechassasult is blasphemy to us).
Also make the glowing useless shield either A)Blast through on one side or B) Bigger. That little thing is more of a bullseye then a useful item.
I also think that the active camo should be changed. While on pug server they can still be used, on a server like are where most of the time you have one support guy, its close to impossible to be useful. I think it should just be made so you can run while still being invisible.|TG-Irr|WarV
