Re: kicked for team killin or kick voted out??

You are not on the manual banlist so go ahead and give a few more tries. The server is pretty much packed at theese hours and we have a reserved slotsystem inplace so if you join at 49 players the last slot between 49 and 50 is kept open to allow supporting members to join on the server.

iirc, that's the message the BF2 server gives when you're kicked for a reserved slot person. I guess it's the same for 2142.

My experience with the kick script is it says you've been "kicked by PB: Admin decision".

You have your BF2142 player ID and In-game alias switched in your profile.

PB can't kick a connecting player. That stock message is the only option when someone hasn't yet authed with the PB servers.

It's the message I get when I'm connected to the server and have played for a little bit. I think it's a step up from being kicked for "team killing". It's vague but at least it's not falsely accusing the player of something.

Re: kicked for team killin or kick voted out??

Hmm.. You *should* be getting a message about being removed for a supporting member..

Re: kicked for team killin or kick voted out??

No not neccesarily. If he has a fast computer he might have time to get into the server before the program repolls the playerlist to purge for reserved slots.

Re: kicked for team killin or kick voted out??

Everybody gets the message as a chat message but players might not notice. It's the final message box after being kicked that may confuse players. The message is fine as it is. It shows up on several chat lines, multiple times, and gives plenty of warning.

Re: kicked for team killin or kick voted out??

No Sarc, there is more to the kicking than that. There are three distrinct ways you can get kicked with the program running towards our battlefield2142 servers. I'll list them in their most common occurance:
  1. Kick for not being in a squad
    - This uses punkbuster for kicking. Punkbuster displays the following message to the user: "3L337Haxx0r, you are being kicked because you did not join a squad within 90 seconds."
  2. Kick for joining on the slot between 49/50
    - If you are a nonsupporting member(or if you have forgot to add 2142 PID in your TG controlpanel), joining on a server which shows 49/50 will kick you via the direct method. This method uses Battlefield 2142 kicks which cannot display custom kickreasons. The standard reason will be shown as:

  3. Kick for swapping place with a supporting member
    - If a supporting member joins on the slot between 49/50 the longest connected non-supporting member will be kicked. This kick uses the punkbuster method again and the following message will be shown "3L337Haxx0r, you are being kicked to provide a slot for one of our paying members. Welcome back another time."

Number 2 does not show up in the ingame chatlogs.

Re: kicked for team killin or kick voted out??

Hmm... I've got a message like that shortly after killing three teammates with a stray mortar salvo, and thought "yeah, just what I deserved"

This message is definitely misleading, and in a way that can piss someone off. Sigh... software...
