Sky Diving: An Impractical Guide

So, you want to try your hand at sky diving? Well, it's real easy. All you really need is a plane! A parachute is also recommended, but not strictly necessary.

I'll be your captain on this flight. We'll be crusing at an altitude of 50,000ft. The cabin is pressurized for your comfort, and the flight attendant will be coming around with the in-flight bar. The weather is perfect, with just a little bit of turbulence.

After exiting the aircraft, try to fall clear to prevent your parachute being tangled up.

15 minutes later (yes, actually 15 minutes later)...

Ground look like it's getting any closer yet?

If that's metres, you are starting to leave the stratosphere and enter the mesosphere.

Great time to crack open that book you've been wanting to read.

Yeah, I tried from 60000 earlier tonight, but I only had 8 minutes on the clock when the round started. I'd like to try again, but it takes a lot of time and the server is usually started from seeding by then.

Was that when we were still seeding the Titan server last night? Wow, can't believe you got that high.

Re: Sky Diving: An Impractical Guide

One easter egg I quite enjoyed in Desert Combat (it may have been part of BF1942, although I'm not sure) were the sound effects included in HALO jumps.

If you flew up as high as you could go (well, not as high as you could go, but as high as you could go and still maintain control over your aircraft) and jumped out and began your fall, eventually you would hear sound effects of your character crapping his pants. It was quite amusing.

Ewww...

Do we get to see his (stuff) come out of his pant cuffs too? 'Cus that would gross me out completely to the point I'll purposely kill my character.

I remember that! Now all you do in BF2142 is scream.

Heck, I scream when I spawn on the ground! Says a lot for my character.

Re: Sky Diving: An Impractical Guide

Actually, on Minsk, when I got really high (this was when I went to 21000) I could have sworn I heard radio traffic, like when you're flying in real life. It was kinda faint, but I'm sure it was there.
