Sub-Committe
So, I was reading around about "sub-groups" in BF2 and hopefully bf2142.
I was thinking that 1st Mech Infantry or the 7th would be a good fit. I am assault mostly, with a mix of recon and others. I am an active healer/reviver. Any word what I should do to pursue either one of these divisions?

Re: Sub-Committe
Well, not a part of any of the in-house squads, but I have played with a lot of the members for a while. Any group you get into (with maybe the exception of the 33rd
) would bring you lots of joy and support. From observation, I can tell you that 1stMIP tends to be very intense and close-knit, with a heavy role-play aspect to them (If you time, go play with John CANavar. Talk about intense!). They have a good amount of their own protocols and SOPS, which is great if you like to learn and execute prepared maneuvers and strategies.
On the other hand, the 7th has a lot of members and is more relaxed than the 1stMIP, which makes it easier to strike up conversations about Teabags and Knife-Sharpening and the like. Doesn't mean you can slack off and risk the wrath of Bommando, though. They have a lot of Grade A combatants, and you know you'll be in competent hands if you play in a squad with them. They also tend to be on the server more often, so you always have a better chance of playing with someone in your in-house squad.
As for the process, I believe the proper protocol is to PM the respective chief officer or recruitment officer of each in-house squad about your interest and to see if they are currently recruiting. You're alread a supporting member, so there's no problem there.
Good luck, and I hope you join the close-knit group that best suits you!

Re: Sub-Committe
Thanks, I do enjoy roleplaying, but I also like high activity levels..... hmmm.
Who heads up the 7th?
I tried to look into the 33rd, http://www.tacticalwiki.com/index.ph...3rd_Roughnecks
but the Wiki page had nothing? What do they do?

If you're looking for "Loose" then the Irregulars may be your cup of tea. Check my sig for details.
There is an explanation for the other squads here: http://www.tacticalwiki.com/index.php/TG_SponsoredRetired 6th DB

Re: Sub-Committe
The 33rd probably haven't updated their Wiki page because they haven't sobered up enough

The 33rd is essentially like the other squads with more cancer causing requirements!Retired 6th DB

Re: Sub-Committe
As far as I know, the 1stMIP holds a lot of their own practices, so while you may not be on a full server, that isn't to say they don't play a fair amount. The thing is, I don't believe we currently have many of the 1stMIP playing 2142, so that's the real sticking point with them.
I didn't mention the Irregulars, because I knew one of their representatives would find their way here eventually and extend their cordial invitation. If you're still on the fence about which squad to join, please keep in mind that many current in-house members were scouted out of the Irregulars. It's great place to start, especially to build your skills, teamwork, and understanding of the different in-house squads.
As for the 33rd, they're probably too drunk to type up any coherent description of themselves other than "We like beer!" which would explain why their Wiki has been blank for the better part of 8 months. I really don't know what their requirements are other than the willingness to bring the rest of the community mirth and joy

Re: Sub-Committe
I believe that several of the Irregs play BF21242. We are centered on BF2 and the mods for our practices though. I'm not sure about the 33rd.

The Irregulars is a very good start for anyone and is open to non-supporting members as well.
One of the key questions is how active an in-house squad is in the game you play. Just PM the recruiting officers to start a conversation.

Are the 5th and the 12th making a showing in 2142? I know the 1st are mostly to be found in PRMM these days.

Plus the 33rd only accepts the best of the best. With the exception of bill, experiment, backlash, redbane, sumluv, roach, claw, derdmeh, bane, and douglas.
