Re: In-game billboards
Hm...Intel Core Duo...by the year 2142, wouldn't those be horribly outdated? Imagine seeing ads for Colecovision today...and that system is only a few decades out of date, never mind more than a century

Anyways - I don't notice the billboards too much at this point - I'm too busy trying to avoid being shot.

Re: In-game billboards
In the future technology stagnates which explains the EU tank. Thus over a hundred years into the future Intels are still big business.
Also I'm going to send a submission for a place selling "Antique Twinkies," if we all send one in I think we can make it happen. On that same note since they've got the space they might as well advertise random clans and communities (at least on their own server), I figure not all the boards have to be used for evil.

Re: In-game billboards
There is no such thing as an "antique twinkie" - at least traditionally. Put a twinkie made today next to one made in 2142, and they'd be exactly the same - edible and all. They cannot possibly go bad.

It sure does. And they're still delicious. I think...it's been a long time.

Re: In-game billboards
We win!
But no matter why they are saying this now, I think this could lead to some great (albeit distracting) ingame moments. The 'ads' could be great for community, have hilarious pictures, or who noes what. As long as EA doesn't sell out, this should actually be pretty cool.

Re: In-game billboards
So even though we paid $50 for this game, and even though ranked servers cost like $3 per slot, and even though they're not even making official content for us, and the ONLY thing EA has to do is run the measly little Master Server, how the hell do they justify advertising in-game? Besides being run by corporate slimeballs, I mean.
In-game advertising should mean NS was free...

Re: In-game billboards
Silver is probably thinking about sneaking in to Pepper Potts (Gwenyth Paltrow character in Iron Man) wardrobe and leaving Wonder Woman behind!

Re: In-game billboards
the billboards should have trailers of new movies.. or trailer of the new battlefield series playing while we fight. im sure some soldiers would be distracted by this and die
