Funny once I was looking at a billboard was not done looking at it and someone took me out with a voss. When I died I fell looking at the billboard at an angle so was able to finish looking it over in peace lol. Billboards cause deaths!

for the billboards I don’t mind them as long as they don’t look pore quality and fit in with the looks of 2142. Paying adds? Sure it lets EA nail someone else for money instead of me. Personally I think the adds should be scaled up to provide revenue for an add on but if it's only providing enough money to keep them patching the game and a little bit of new content every now and then that’s fine. Contrary to popular belief when you put your 2 bits in a jute box you get to dance for a bit not forever.

Nobody said anything about forever. In fact, EA's patch support is notoriously short compared to most other games out there. They commonly just throw two patches and leave a game forever.

EA is not passing ANY savings on to us, and the ads benefit us in no way whatsoever.

I find it io be the opposet, the BF seris seems to keep on getting patched while other games I play are only ever patched a few times 2142 has is around patch 8 or more I believe while red alert 2 was patched I tihink 2 times totaly, a few of the dawn of war seris were only patched 2-3 times or only once for the newest one, and then nothing, no support no maps no nothing.

So far in 2142 we have seen 1 new free map a masive game rebalance and 2 more maps that are releseing soon all of that they spend money on & none of that they have charged money for though they could have.

    RA2 is an EA game...

Anyway what good is "8 patches" for the game, when balance is still atrocious and the game is rife with crash and peformance issues, and most importantly, bad netcode? Hell even the crappy UI / HUD has NEVER been patched in a single BF game, and I don't know anyone who thinks its tolerable at all.

Well, it's obviously tolerable seeing as we all play the games as much as we do.

    Re: In-game billboards

I purchased the game on October 18th, 2006. According to BF2142-stats.com I have logged over 613 hours in game. Assume I payed $50 for the original and $20 for NS ($70 total) the cost per hour to play this game has been 11.4 cents / hour. As far as I'm concerned I'm happy with the per hour cost. I didn't think the in-game billboards were a problem when the game came out, I don't think it's a problem now. Honestly I don't think I've ever pain any attention to them in game, I'm too busy actually playing.

Besides being run by corporate slimeballs, I mean.

In-game advertising should mean NS was free...
