Anyone else notice how close the games are?

Played a bunch of games yesterday and a lot of them were very close, like 10 points or less. It really gets down to the wire and thats a lot of fun. It's great when both teams have competent squads which is a lot better than most other servers which are usually lopsided.

yeah. the first game i commanded for this server yesterday ended up being 1-0 at the end, and then two of the other games were single digit differences. it's a lot of fun, and it's a lot of fun to have people keep reminding each other not to die.

Yes, lots of close rounds. Makes for some cliffhangers!

Re: Anyone else notice how close the games are?

And comebacks, FKD. Especially on Titan, where you don't lose until your Titan is KO'ed, now there is some intense fighting. I CO'ed a match (on TG, as I recall) once where I started as Commander about halfway to three-quarters of the way through the round, and man, did our side not have it together. There was an unfortunate lack of TGers on my side, with Fehmart and some others being the exception. Oh man, I was giving orders like crazy. In the end, we won by one missile. And conquest rounds I've played have finished the same way, with the score 1-0 several times. The times when it doesn't, well, let's just say the distribution on talent was a little lopsided. Teamwork makes the difference, all the time.

I've noticed Titan rounds are especially close.. comebacks galore.. going down to the last missile. I love it. I don't usually get that same tenseness on conquest for some reason.

Because Conquest is also known as "Whack-A-Flag". Not much tension there.

Perhaps, but the last two Conquest rounds I participated in were settled by less than 10 tickets and won from behind. Though the larger maps do tend to be blowouts, the infantry-based ones are not so easily decided anymore. For instance, the Fall of Berlin used to be a slaughter for the PAC team, but many squads are using different tactics to make this a much more enjoyable map.

Eek...coming down to the chicken wire... Usually find myself flying around in a buggy, after I deployed all that I could, running enemies over just so I can get to that one flag in the back where no one bothers to even capture. And of course, I never do manage to capture before we win or we lose.

I actually rarely see EU win on Berlin anymore.

Re: Anyone else notice how close the games are?

I've found that there are very few players, including TG'ers, that can sit still for long. Sooner or later, players get bored and ask for new orders to cap another flag/silo. The SL has to constantly remind the squad not to move too far or what the real objective is to prevent the flag hopping situation.
