Yes that was me Barracuda. I remember that kill since you jump right on the top of my buddy's dead body while I'm trying to revive him. Talking about wrong place at a wrong time.

Speaking of knifing...remember that guy who was making the real good Squad Leader videos? His name was Orca. His latest video ("Shart needs a hug, Great Gibraltar!, and some fun clips") demonstrates some more grade A squad leading, plus some goofing around. It includes some knifing on a lighter note.
His goofing around may be viewed as distasteful and he knows it, so he's put disclaimers all around the video. I should state my own disclaimer in posting this...I am not endorsing this behaviour whatsoever, I just find it hilarious.
Here are some highlights:
At 17:20, Orca finds an isolated spawn beacon while drinking beer. Hilarity and tastelessness ensues.
At 21:50, he decides to play a game called 'Emergency'. Squad Members, if your Squad Leader calls a 'huddle' at any time, become suspicious.

Dude defib kills are awesome! I've had several in this game, usually when I'm trying to revive a teammate and an enemy gets up in my face. Bzzt!!
Not quite as funny as the BF2 defib kills tho. The site of my guy holding the 2 shockpaddles just had that much more comedic value.

lol, i got defibed once on a titan. I came running around a corner with my medpack out and found myself face to face with an enemy medic with his defib out. I tried to switch to gun, but knew it was all over when I heard the bzzzt.

Re: Ban for Knife Kills? Before you call me crazy, please read.
Defib actually has a slightly farther range than the knife it seems. It is a longer recharge time, but depending on your key config, shock, whihp out knife.. kill kill, back to defib. Its really really fun.. not sure if the TG attitude would approve, but it IS a game, and defibbing live ones ARE fun.
Anyone ever knife, or been knifed where you hear contact of the knife, but no kill? I knifed a guy 3 times once.. he never died, and he turned around and Bianchi'd me. It was the lamest thing I've seen. I was actually leding another squad member into the Titan vents while defending. They had our core exposed, so we wanted to kill every one of them from behind.
Needless to say, didn't work out so well. All the forces of Evil need to Succeed is for enough Good men to do nothing.

Re: Ban for Knife Kills? Before you call me crazy, please read.
Knife vs snipers to the back = Tactial.
Knife vs bum rush = high death count.
Sir. I asume your playing a non-TG server with people who might not be tacticly inclinded to do the right thing, right? Well if I'm right isn't that what we have the TG server for?
I can fully agree that knife fighting is only for the tacticly right time. I rarely use it unless it's a camper that is with buddies and I need a silent kill. I have only 7 dog tags.. I like the badges to but I'll goto a public server with other bunny hoppers and badge whores to get it.. Not here.

Re: Ban for Knife Kills? Before you call me crazy, please read.
I know it is kinda off topic, but I have finally tried out my dastardly cowardly tactics tonight on a public server. I had a fully loaded Voss with me on me solo trip (yeah, decide to go for a chance away from TG discipline). Bum into this noob, who also a an assault. I fire my first shot then switch to my pistol binded into my middle button. The noob instinctively whip his knife out only to realize that I changed back to my Voss have pumped him full of lead (tea bagging followed up). That was so... satisfying to be evil!!!! Muhahaha

Re: Ban for Knife Kills? Before you call me crazy, please read.
Ever hear the phrase "Never bring a knife to a gun fight"?
While pulling out a knife and charging blindly at the enemy is a slightly comical last stand, it seriously just doesn't make sense. I know that we sometimes jokingily do it, but we only do it because we know who it is we're up against. This one time in BF2, I think I was playing with Silver and we went up against the 33rd. In a last ditch effort, I yanked out my knife and went after clawhammer (or NorCal, I can't remember). While, to no ones surprise, I didn't succeed, it was a fun moment. But note, I knew who it was I was going after. Random "custer-stands" are pointless. Tickets get wasted, and we're left scratching our heads.
Now, I'm just gonna sit here and wait until Bommando says, "Why are we even talking about this?" and closes the thread.
"On that day half a century ago, our species was pushed to the crumbling edge of extinction. And as we teetered on that precipice, staring down into the abyss, a hand reached out, pulled us back from the brink, and gave us hope... the hand of a Hero."
