Re: The CO Pledge
i sometimes can. like when i forget to put my bf2142 profile up for my speedpad at the very beginning it hasn't seemed to. but when i've been playing a few minutes and need to IM someone or start up TS or close down Ventrilo, it crashes.

Re: The CO Pledge
::Continuing the way off-topic discussion::
I can Alt-Tab no problem, but it takes a minute to catch up when I'm tabbing back in.
Just like Eroak, I also experience crash-to-desktops occasionally while switching weapons (not kits mind you...actually in the customize screen). Seems to happen most when I'm moving kit items around just as the round starts.
Make sure you're using the latest graphics drivers...especially if you're using an Nvidia SLi rig.
I updated and saw much better improvement in gameplay (dual GeForce 7800 OCX cards w/ 256MB). Granted, with that much power, I'd expect good gameplay, but still...there was a difference that showed.|TG-9th| Prophaniti

Re: The CO Pledge
just thought i'd post... since i'm on a 4-year-old computer for the next couple of weeks, I'll be COing quite a bit more as it's the best thing i can do on my computer.
That being said, if I'm going to do that, I'm open for any criticism/suggestions. I think I do a pretty good job, but there's always room for improvement.

Re: The CO Pledge
Back on topic...
I noticed that there has been a increase in good commanders lately. I been trying to do so myself and been doing good so far as in winning. Still waiting on feedback from some peers though. I don't SL to often, but I did about 3 times the past week and everytime I did I have a very good communcating CO. I think Santa and TG-Revark were 2. If so kudos to the CO's them games.

Commanding TG
Or the lack there of. I haven't seen any consistent TG commanders in days. Today the most command I've seen is a prepubescent voice cracking always on the attack lose everything you have must be 12 year old. I would command myself but for some reason most times I load in and the match has either started or theres maybe 20 seconds to the start.
How can this be a tactically sound decision to let everyone BUT TG lead the teams?

Re: Commanding TG
I hear ya. I like commanding occasionally, but I'm usually beat out by a pubbie with a higher rank. Either that, or, by the time I join the server and jump in at CO, the situation is nearly hopeless (not that I think I can save the day, but atleast stem the bleed a little bit).

Re: Commanding TG
I've been commanding a lot, but I only take the reins at a max once per map (or 50% of the time). Additionally, I'm not that highly ranked (chief petty officer gold), so a lot of the pubbies come in and outrank me right off the bat.
I love commanding, especially on infantry maps, but I like to use it to mix up my game play. After playing in a squad for three or four rounds, it's fun to step back and play commander.
Anyway, yeah. I've commanded a lot since I've been using the crappy computer. When I get back to my new computer, i'll bet my percent commanding goes down a little, but I promise i'll try and take over some.
All that said, I don't assume that people really look to me as a better commander than many pubbies, but at least my primary focus is commanding, i use VoiP and my primary goal is winning the game rather than ratcheting up commander points.

Re: Commanding TG
Well I can outrank a lot of the Pubbies if I get the chance but frankly my command skills aren't all that good. I made Colonel Silver today.
