Pff, Rockets. Always aim at Bommando's support guy. It makes him angry.

I giggle to myself as I imagine the VOIP chatter: "Can I get some ammo? Hmm? No ammo for me? Where's my ammo?"

Re: An eternal pox upon Bommando and his rockets.

I've noticed that rockets have quite a bit of downward drift at mid to long range. Also, to be effective in a fast paced firefight, I've found that you really need an object behind or beside your enemy to nail the rockets with, thus creating splash damage.

For use on the Titan defending a corridor it is helpful to mark the entrance range and then "dial it down" a bit. If the attackers move beyond the entrance your rockets will go right by them and explode on the wall behind.

Also, they betray your position quite well with their smoke trails as Thanatos mentioned.

Looking forward to the TGU session.

One of the best pieces of advice I have seen posted in these forums. I once spent a full round just following Bommando around with an Ammo Hub and scored over 30 points re-supplying him alone.

Re: An eternal pox upon Bommando and his rockets.

The gameplay complexity associated with all these extra toys, like rockets, sentry guns, squad leader drones/beacons and all the rest makes this game great, and the reason I can't go back to BF2/POE.

Re: An eternal pox upon Bommando and his rockets.

I've just recently started using rockets. I have my scroll wheel assigned to change to a particular weapon when I scroll up or down so that rules out using the airburst mode for me (i think, correct me if I'm wrong). They are still pretty effective just using impact mode, but maybe I should reshuffle my mouse binds?

I find myself consistently using the wheel to adjust range and I feel I am getting pretty good with my rockets. I would change my bindings if you plan to use them much.

Slightly off topic, but you might get a chuckle out of this thread

ZOMG.... After spending a round or two with Bo and listen to him yell about not getting healed/revived.. I now totally understand why he is a bit "sensitive" to this topic..

I am still laughing as I type this... toooo funny!!

No. Default key binding works fine. When you are in scope on any weapon scroll wheel will not change weapons. So the scroll distance will work fine for you.

Re: An eternal pox upon Bommando and his rockets.

Now I have to correct myself. I'm pretty certain it didn't do anything in regular BF2 when the scope was up, but I tried it tonight and you can change weapons with the scroll wheel and the scope is up on other weapons. The assault rifle with rockets, the scroll wheel does the ranging though, it will not change weapons.

I had no idea there was an air burst mode until I read this thread. Now that I know...yikes...I'm learning quickly and the results are pretty nasty.

Great, just what we need, a more deadly Mantis. *cries for his increased future death count*
