What's with the shouting? No you will not be able to see more, EA/DICE consider that to be an unfair advantage.

Talking in all caps is considered shouting on the internet.

Re: When will we be able to use Dual monitor in BF series??

I will soon have my second monitor once the christmas season rolls through. I plan to put TS, system monitor, chat programs, and winamp on the second one, although winamp commands don't go through from 2142 / bf2.

How much does your game performance suffer if you run two monitors? Is it noticable? I've got to try this out. One little thing that always bugged me was not being able to see whose chatting with me on TS while I'm in game. I tried TS Overlay but was getting lag because of it.

If your using 2 video cards, very little. If your using one card with dual support, well that depends on the card. If you have WinAMP, TS, and Anti-Virus in as background programs, running. They are still doing the same even if you have them on the second monitor and using them. The memory for windows 2d graphics take from 512kb to about 4 mb of the video ram pending on your DT config. That's minimum. your preformance should drop more then 2 or 3 fps unless its a video card that is already being work to it's redline.

I have 2 monitors also. I cant use them both together while im in sli mode, but if i just use one card im fine to carry on playing, while i have TS and xfire on second monitor.

What bugs me though, if i put my mouse over to second monitor and say click TS while playing 2142, it CTD then 2142 freezes blah blah blah.

But if im on menu for 2142 it CTD but 2142 is all ok and i just clcik back on!

Re: When will we be able to use Dual monitor in BF series??

i have a 7950 which is a card with two 7900s (2x512MB) and if i run two monitors it says it's only using half the capacity. I don't know if that's true or if anyone else has that problem, but i'd hate to cut my performance by half... although half of this card would still be pretty darn good.

Reason it slows up, once you hit TS or any other program for that matter, It becomes a background process and your processer time is now devoted more to your forward applacations

It's possible. Best things to do is look at general gamer forums and see what happens to them. I can see memory being reserved but I can't see you only getting half preformance from your V-processer.

It doesnt slow down, it minimize bf214, then it stops responding, restart needed etc!

I have dual core processor(4600) , so i would of thought it could handle it all.?

BF2142 does not support task switching properly (from the read-me file):

====================================
V. KNOWN ISSUES AND TROUBLESHOOTING
====================================

Task switching is not fully supported while running Battlefield 2142. If you use functions such as Alt-Tab and other variations then you may experience problems.

====================================
Cheers.

Hey Birdie, give this a try it might help you minimize your processes and increase your system efficiency. Good luck and I hope this helps.
