Man Yall Shoud Focus On What I Write Not How I Write It. Unless Theres A Thread That Forbids Players From Writing In Caps, What Do You Possibly Care. Man I Havent Rant, Glot, Cuss(in English) Or Insalted Any Of My Fello Team Mates. Seems To Me That Theres Something Wrong Here.

Re: Can we INCREASE the setup timer?

LOL. It makes my eyes bleed. And honestly, I won't read more than a few words before I give up on the post as not being worth reading. I'd imagine that quite a few TGers are the same. Someone here quite a while ago once said (paraphrase) "If you can't be bothered to write proper English, I'm certainly not going to bother trying to read it."

In short, it's not that anyone really cares strongly one way or another, it's just that you are mostly posting to yourself when you write that way.

Winner.

When I see Maxx post, I just go to the next post. *shrug*

Edit: Not to mention, it is universally known on the internet as bad manners. Might as well chew with your mouth open, and fart in public.

This will be my last reply to or about you, unless you begin posting in a more legible manner. This in not a threat, as I honestly don't think you care if I read your posts or not, I'm just stating fact...

As stated by other members, and the internet community as a whole, writing in all caps is considered shouting, and if persisted then it becomes rude and obnoxious. Add to that your lack of punctuation and it is like nails on a chalk board.

Your words may not be insulting, but your actions (writing style) most certainly is. Is it that difficult to turn off caps lock? Is there some moral issue we are missing here?

Re: Can we INCREASE the setup timer?

A time increase would be great. This is one of the reasons I play/joined and became a SM at TG. Tactics/Communication is what makes this game great, and the more time we have before a map starts the better prepared we are going to be. As someone else pointed out allot of players are still loading, and barely have enough time to get set, let alone the people applying for commander and having to wait to be selected then look over what squads they have and giving them orders.

2 minutes to 2:30 won't kill anyone, and if it keeps these run and gun, don't hold spawn or follow orders players off the server, well there are plenty of other good mature players that want to play on TG, and know how to keep there guns in there pants when told :-)...incase you hadn't noticed the server is almost always full!

Re: Can we INCREASE the setup timer?

A problem I often have on the TG server is not ending up in a TG squad. I know I'm new to TG and I understand that I won't get any kind of priority. However, I hate ending up on a squad of mic-free peeps that are running from the autoboot.

So, my break usually consists of waiting for a TG squad to open so I can jump in. And sometimes it does. Usually with five seconds on the clock, a faithful TG will create a squad named OH FINE, and I will jump in. In this scenario, the break is wasted as there is no time to strategerize Plus I don't get my beer break which tends to mess up my aim

Will increasing the timer help with this issue? Probably not. I still vote we do it.

P.S. I know the way to solve my problem is to be the squad leader more often. And I have been trying it. I even unlocked the beacon. However, I still do not know most of the maps and I tend to get overwhelmed when it gets really rough.

Re: Can we INCREASE the setup timer?

We've all gone thru our growing pains. If you're really averse to SLing, create a squad named VOIP and just kick anyone who joins it and doesn't talk. When it gets full, just leave and rejoin the squad, and voila!, someone else will be SLing and you'll have a squad full of VOIP guys.

Re: Can we INCREASE the setup timer?

I really do not think that starting a squad and then abandoning the squad leader position is the right thing to do.

This happens to much for me to argue the point. Sometimes I make a squad, then another 9th member makes one and invites me to his squad. *shrug* I always get a chuckle over the first 1:30 setup and how the squads evolve over it.

See, your problem is that people (including me) sit and wait for either the squad they had last time or another TG squad to start, then they hit the join button as fast as humanly possible. The way around this is to lock the squad and only invite people in, but that's only a partial solution. It does however, keep the squads the same, so that you get to know and work well with your squadmates and leader. Also, you can often make an impression on your SL, so he/she will want you back and will make sure to invite you. Personally, I don't SL much, as I wind up with a bunch of TG vets and I'm scared to death that I'm not going to do a good job and let them down. I will SL, but I still prefer to be a Squad Member or CO, which I do more now that I have a mic. On the subject of the timer, it would be nice for a reason you haven't considered: small talk. Sometimes the squad will just chat until there are a couple seconds on the clock, then I hear "Hold-", and the game is on. Nice.

Re: Can we INCREASE the setup timer?

I make up the teamwork squad and its first come, first served. I enjoy playing with different people and get to meet some good players. If I get invited to a locked squad I will go if I am not in a squad or in a non-reg squad.

I also would be for the two min timer, sometimes I gotta pee ya know.

Re: Can we INCREASE the setup timer?

It does not matter to me because like others have said instead of waiting 1 min 15 sec for someone to create a squad we will wait 1 min 45 sec for a squad. Then we will still have the same amount of time for discussion. The best solution would be for us to have more people willing to SL (including myself) that will start the squad as soon as possable.
