Why don't admins do anything!?!?
NO ONE REPORTS ANYTHING ON TEAMSPEAK OR IN CHAT!!!! We admins are not mind readers and we can not be everywhere at once. I do not think you will ever find a case where a player got on Teamspeak, "ASKED" and admin to check on something, and the admin didn't take care of it!!! At the expense of his own game half the time!
If you type the name in chat we occasionally bounce around and check the chat logs. Then we have name to do something with.
"|TG|<insert name here>: What's with all these blankety blank bunnyhopper noobs, why won't an admin kick them?!?!!?"
1) Kick who!?!?!?
2) Don't TELL us what to do, bring it to our attention.
3) Try looking at yourself "NOOB" |TGer|, veteran players have enough sense to come get us on teamspeak and tell us.

Re: Why don't admins do anything!?!?
I remember a few days ago, I told Mantis about a UCB attacker, and the guy then spammed the chat board with useless banter. Mantis kicked the guy for the reason that he was being a "Smacktard". Alot of "smacktards" have been on the server lately. Sometimes, I think that if I try to get an admin to do something too much, I'm annoying you guys. Lately, alot of people have been on the server breaking rules, and I feel like reporting them all makes me sound like a broken record. If I see something, I'll try to say something, but don't blame me if I come to you guys alot.

Re: Why don't admins do anything!?!?
Noted, as a side note, if I let slip..."can you please kick so and so" please do not take that as me telling you to KICK someone. It is a habit. I know it is the admins decision to kick/warn/ban or whatever, but sometimes my choice of wording is not the best, and in the heat of battle it just comes out that way.

Yes log on teamspeak before loading 2142, then report infractions. It's a good way to contribute to server quality. Us admins can only do so much without the eyes and ears of our community.

Re: Why don't admins do anything!?!?
I think the smacktards have some kind of admin-radar that tells them to join the server when all the admins are gone. Last night was pretty bad, especially on Tunis Harbor. Both teams were constantly stealing walkers out of UCB's. I know Birdie and I were both on TS trying to contact an admin, but none were on at the time (I understand that people have "real lives," whatever that is).

Re: Why don't admins do anything!?!?
Maybe you should consider setting up some of the paying members with junior admin privileges, only allowing them enough power to warn and kick. All admin actions are logged, so you could always revoke the power if abused.
Just a thought.

Re: Why don't admins do anything!?!?
I have made a point to log on TS the past few nights since it seems that since Christmas there is an abundance of "smacktards" that just got the game and are just picking us since we are usually somewhere in the top 5 of the list of servers. I think till things die down everyone that atleast logs on the forums here should do the same. We are the "quality control" the admins enforce what we see happening.

Dude, I wish everybody was as diligent about reporting smacktards as you are. It's not an annoyance, keep it up.
Last night? I was around until some disgustingly late hour on TeamSpeak, although I wasn't in the 2142 channel. If you need an admin and there aren't any in 2142 channel, check if I'm somewhere else on TS- I don't have a problem taking a few minutes out of whatever I'm doing to deal with smacktards.

Re: Why don't admins do anything!?!?
Query: As I don't use TS, when I see fluffwit behaviour on the server I usually type something like "Admins: [playername] is camping in our UCB" -- would that in all honesty have any effect?

Re: Why don't admins do anything!?!?
I would report smacktardness if I did have one critical issue.
When I start up TS it works fine. When I then start BF2142 I can't use the VOIP. It says the device is in use. Same if I start up BF first and then start TS. Then TS can't find a availble device.
If anyone knows how to repair this I'd be thankfull but I haven't had the time to really search for it lately. I work in retail and x-mass and all.. well you know.
Ok besides all that. I wont report it unless it's effecting someone's gameplay or unbalancing the game. I used to Admin my own FPS server and It gets annoying playing babysitter for 30 minutes and you got better things to kill. I don't like to chime in on a admin unless I feel it's urgent. The soldier formerly known as, Eroak.

Re: Why don't admins do anything!?!?
Make sure you have Push to Talk on for TS. And make it a different button then the VOIP in game.
On another note. I noticed reporting up alot yesterday. I thank this thread. If someone in my squad mentioned an infraction I made sure they got his name and reported it accordingly! Thanks for this thread, and log on TS and report infractions.
