    Talking The Q button

    Playing BF series really start to affect my habit lately both in gaming and (sadly) in real life. I dropped back to play Half-life 2 for some mindless fun, first thing I did in the boat level is to reach the Q button to call out the attack helo.

    And then the dumbest thing came during work. I work in a library next to a hospital with a helipad. When I heard the air beating noise, instinctively I reached for the Q button. Lucky me I fixed the call number in a nick of time before that book get lost in a huge pile of 5 millions.

    The worst part would've been when you realized you can't spot friendly helicopters anyways.

    You should have seen me trying to play F.E.A.R. Combat. I kept wasting my ammo and stuff trying to use hotkeys from 2142 (the Q one in specific).

    My shooting an enemy would be delayed by a whole second with me trying to spot them, >.<

    Oh my, how many times I've died trying to spot people in CS:S.
    I guess It'll just have to do, that they have adopted a minimap with red and blue dots. Close enough, I say

    lol, i used to be into like skinning models and **** for cs:s, and the other day, my brother asked me if you can see contacts in your eyes.
    i responded "no, you cant see the view model"
    hahahah.
    but yeah i do the q thing all the time, always gets me killed in dod:s

    I tried to do it yesterday in a WoW Battleground.

    I started cracking up and got myself slaughtered by a shaman.

    Stupid shaman...stupid Q button!

    It's even worse in Rainbow Six Vegas where the Q button is for your grenades. End up reading happy messages like this:

    Vegas is one damn good game. I was thinking about buying it on boxing day but end up with Company of Heroes an equally good game. Reason is that my rig can't handle Vegas at maximum. Thus there is no reason for a graphic wh*re such as me to play it.
    But yeah, try the q spot in any fast action game and you end up death more than often.

    I still just wish there was hotkey just for spotted. Would make it much faster and lessen the chance of shooting your gun instead of spotting something

    My biggest problem in game is the push to talk key. Every time I talk I push the V key and sometimes I get confused when I have to talk to people in the house with me. 2 nights ago I started yelling upstairs to my Wife and the whole squad heard it.

    Ack, the wall between reality and virtual world is less than visible these days. My aunt yelled at me for swearing constantly but in fact it is that damn yanks who were swearing in CoH.

    I Know how you feel man, try driving the Nekomata and talking to your mom who is on the other side of the world on your cellphone at the same time. I deserve a tank school badge for just trying that out.

    That's why I wear my headset even if I'm not talking, especially on CoH. The cursing, man, it's funny but a bit of a problem if there are others in the house who don't approve. Also, the headset is handy if you have a fellow squad member, squad leader, or commander who just happens to curse every freaking sentence. If you've played with pvt.buddha you know what I'm talking about. He's a nice guy, but man, he could make sailors blush! Anyway, my spot doesn't always work: I push Q, I left click, but nothing happens. Either that or my weapon fires, which is really great if I'm an engineer and my AT weapon is out.

    Get Vegas on the 360 is really good and looks just as good as the PC one maxed. (if you have an HD tv)
