A warning to "smacktards"
Maybe I'm pushing it a bit since I just now became a supporting member, but I'm very tired of all the smacktards invading our 2142 server. Maybe it's only because of a recent influx, but I really see no need to go onto a server if you don't intend to abide by it's rules, TG or not.
Campers, UCB attackers, incompetent squad leading/commanding, asinine support/engineers/medics (I had one medic crouch on my face, shooting at people instead of reviving me. Yes, I got teabagged by my own team), Jihadists; agh, the list goes on. Lone wolfs aren't a concern to me since the squadless kick should take care of them.
And it's not that we kick people... Some of those who come back to square off with the server, and consequently the admins, really have no business picking up this game. I remember one instance we kicked a guy for UCB attacking. That person came back and started spamming the board with dumb "noob" rants. What business do you have coming back onto our servers when you were A) kicked for not following our rules, B) come back on acting all high and mighty like your sneeze will instantly knife everyone on the battlefield, and C) start saying things that would make Baby Jesus cry? Coming onto our servers is a voluntary action, but getting banned must really take some effort.
If I wanted to get banned from every server I didn't like, I should have probably saved the money by NOT buying the game and go buy the prestigious Uwe Boll Collection. All smacktards should be punished by forcibly having their games sold and the money from those sales used to buy his horrible movies. If that's not motivation for you to play this game properly, then don't play this game.

Re: A warning to "smacktards"
so is this another " I dint contact the admins about a server issue" rant or what? If you as a TG SM dont take the problems to the admins how are they expected to know whats going on. PM an admin to get this resolved
that sounds like a good idea trooper.

Re: A warning to "smacktards"
We admins WANT you players to report problem players. Not just the total tards, but also those who just don't get it.. They don't follow orders, they run off on their own, etc. We are on TS, so just let us know.

No, I report them. I just think having to report so many people is annoying. The people who return to "threaten" us really take the cake though.

Re: A warning to "smacktards"
Reporting them is all we can do really. That and politely try and educate them of TG's ways, convert the masses kind of thing. Now I don't mean to hijack this thread, but could it be possible to axe the titan server and put in an unranked conquest? I'm sure it would be a lot cheaper, and with unranked the players you get are pretty much all tactical enthusiasts. For titan Friday's, the only time we use the titan server we could switch the ranked server over to Titan. That or run password nights, which I know have been brought up in the past. That would definitely give us a break from the "smacktards."

Re: A warning to "smacktards"
I think that the MasterEditorInChief is just wondering if swifter and more drastic forms of punishment for server rule infractions could be carried out like a timebased ban on players who severly and repeatedly violate the rules.
Currently, if we see a player not following the rules, we DO report it to the Admin, and we'll try to use all the ways we can to notify the player of the problem. Ideally, they listen and correct the situation asap. However, there are "smacktards" out there who find the objective and simple server rules asinine and tedious and take any reminders or warnings or requests for change from our players or admins thereof personally. This sometimes results in them feeling compelled to escalate the situation in a malicious, vengeful, immature "rage against the machine" sort of way. Kicking players is much appreciated by rule abiding players, but problems arise when those problem players return with a personal vendetta and intentions to ruin the game experience for everyone."We toys can see everything... So play nice!"

Re: A warning to "smacktards"
You have to remember we are following a protcol when it comes to bans. This protocol is Warn/Kick/Ban. We DO ban people, but we cannot follow every player that misbehaves by our own account. The way to rectify this is to report the player either by the means of a PM or on TS as it happens. This way we can ban the person next time we catch him on the servers.

Re: A warning to "smacktards"
I am harsher then most when it comes to smacktards, but I have been absent for said weekend and I am quite sure there was rampant smacktardery (is that a word?). Fear not peeps, I'm back, and please report even the insignificant infractions, I really do not mind if it cleans up the server!! I also like the suggestion about switching the Titan to an unranked conquest. And we do have temporary time limited bans at our disposal.

Re: A warning to "smacktards"
If smacktardery isn't a word, it is now

How does the whole ranked/unranked thing work. It costs more to be a ranked server, right? Is a ranked titan server less than a ranked conquest server?

Re: A warning to "smacktards"
Don't make any plans for the Titan server to be anything other than a Titan server at this point in time. If you have questions with that, PM me.
The server DOES get activity beyond the friday night titan games.
