Discussion: Battlefield 2142 / Battlefield 2142 - General Discussion - Booster Packs - 2142 is the first Battlefield game I've ever played, so I don't know much about

    Booster Packs

    2142 is the first Battlefield game I've ever played, so I don't know much about all the crap EA put earlier players through. When EA releases the first booster pack for 2142, does that mean I'll have to buy it in order to play on the TG servers?

    depends on if TG supports the booster pack or not. Most of the time, its a whack of new maps, and a new weapon that no one uses anyway.

    Seeing how the booster's for BF2 kinda sorta didn't do too well here (some will say that is an understatement), I would be surprised if we support any 2142 boosters.

    I agree.

    And, you can't play the maps without having the booster packs. We'll probably support some maps that people make later on, tho.

    i think we'll see some free patch maps first before any expansion packs if any. booster packs are illogical.

    I also think the same, in bf2 thats what dice did with ea before they came out with special forces and european forces, problably just means for the future to see insanely large patches.

    After a hard long day on the battlefield, you just wanna play some ball but some idiot wont let you because he has an explosive bag of pitchers' powder....

    I'll say that's an understatement. Those boosters didn't go well on any server. It worked out great for EA so I can see them trying it again.

    I'd give it a 25% chance of being a booster, 25% chance of being patch content, and a 50% chance of it being 1 new map and a booster.

    That's what I was going to say. I'm not sure how much they spent in development costs for the boosters, but as you recall - the armor fury one was released online only. That was a killer money maker for them.

    I think you guys will definately see boosters, ala 100% chance of one coming out. You'd be kidding yourself if you didn't think EA wasn't planning on squeezing every last dime out of us for this game. It's their pleasure!

    i give it a 110% chance that the booster pack will screw the game up 90% more and cause it to be 200% less fun while they have 400% more patches trying to fix the 5% content that messed up 100% of the game in the first place
