Yea, it is my first "real" video card. I mean one that is actually above average. Man, I have been missing out.

Word of advice. It is MUCH MUCH easier to see people with the graphics on low. When you are in the shadows in 2142.... well there are NO SHADOWS with graphics low. So when you are in that dark hallway thinking you are hiding, I could see you VERY VERY easily with graphics way down. The dark spots where shadows are now.... well, these same hallways were as bright as a noon day sun with the graphics on low.

*shrug* I am adapting too the new shadows, although I think I am going to disable that part of it.

We had a thread about this same problem with BF2. Low light settings do not render the sun in the sky thus removing shadows. It really is an advantage. I just crank it anyway. I didn't buy this hardware to not use it.

A new graphics card will not make up for the poor eyesight of an old man, my friend.

    Re: Fear Me!

You guys give me computer envy. I'm just running a mid-class machine with no upgrade path

    Athlon XP 3000+
    ATI X800 XT
    1 Gig slow-ass PC2700 RAM

I've got it tuned and tweaked as lean as possible and I think I get roughly 30fps playing BF2142. It drops during massive fighting, which is why I'm such a 'hands-off' SL, letting my SM's risk life and limb instead
