Whatever the second server runs, it has to be seeded. During my years at TG, I've always seen a second TG server run empty for the majority of the time regardless of the game or game type. It's usually required that a scheduled event or some prodding to fill up a second server.

Pubbies only join half-full servers. So having a second conquest server will only work if it is half full. I am assuming that TGers will play in the server that has the most TGers in it, so I think (as Sarc said above) it would still just sit empty if the titan server was switched to a second conquest server.

Yes, it has been positive growth. Remember the whole doom and gloom talk of us having a ranked public server - it will never work, swarms of bad play and players, etc?

It's amazing how many new quality players we have brought to TG thru BF 2142. I would guess we now have 20-25 supporting members and 50-75 new registered members because of the game.

I would like to see some "Official Nights". I've been trying to get the TGITF (Titan Friday) going, but would like to see that stated in an official capacity.

Maybe we could throw in a password night on a weekly bases.

Names, it's all about the names.

You name one TG #1 and the other TG #2, the #1 server will fill up long before the other one.

Name them TG The Full Monty and TG Urban Combat respectively and make them peers, now people will choose server based on what they want to play rather than an arbitrary number.

    It really works.

I am personally amazed at the growth of the 2142 server. Back in BF2, there were many a night where I was in the mood to play TG, but it was past the "prime time," and the server was emptying out. At around 11pm EST, people would usually start leaving, and by 1am or so there wouldn't be enough people to start the round.

In 2142, I have yet to have a SINGLE time where I've wanted to join the TG server and not seen the server completely full (48/50). It really emphasizes the reserved slot bonus of an SM, =P

Yep fact of life. Also as someone else said, most of us TGers will want to play with other TGers so we will group up on server 1 (or 2, whatever) and we do not have 48 TGers at any given time so the rest will fill with pubbies, which is good ( new blood). If we had a second conquest server, and let's just say it does fill up...it will be 90-100% pubbie with little or no direct admin action (as we are playing with you all on server 1. Hey we like to play too!)

IMO the Titan server does not fill like the conquest because of the lag on the Titan. That is the reason I won't play it, and I don't see EA or DICE spending alot of sleepless nights fixing the code either. While the Titan concept is pretty cool, if they are not going to fix the mechanics of the game I just won't play. Conquest holds enough entertainment value for me where I don't feel the loss.

I prefer titan mode. Maybe we could have some kind of weekly event and try and fill it up once a week? I'd love to see the damage a squad of TGers could do when working together to take out a titan.

    Greetings from the past.

    Neat thread.

The only thing I can say is that the Snail DID prevail, like no other.

Man, this guy really pushed for this. You'all should do a search on this. There was a lot of good threads about having a 2142 server back in the summer.

Looked like things went very well.

Awsome work and dedication was put forth by the community and by you, the server populace, to make this happen.

    The future:
After you guys have your internal scrim, I say take your show on the road and challenge other factions. I would love to see how well you'all do. And for it to be video taped.

    Cheers, and have a good'n.

I would love to challenge some other communities, and would also like to get into CAL or TWL, although my first attempt didnt get many responses. Perhaps after the 9th firms up its tactics I will bring that subject back up.

Edit: I have found a strong showing in CAL or TWL is good marketing for any guild/community.

Actually, I thought we were supposed to be sprinkling in a couple titan maps into the conquest server... Anyone know what happened to this proposal?

Hey all, Iv been around the the TG server for a while now and i finally got a chance to join the ranks. The server is top-notch all the way, but it would be nice to get some titan maps for a lil variety. I love blowing that beast up

I think experiment hit the target on the titan issue. The lag is what really keeps me from playing titan mode, other than that I love the difference in gameplay. There's certainly a contrast between how people play in titan mode and conquest. Unfortunately the lag problem turns a lot of people away from titan mode.

I have a thread going counting just the thing. I Think we currently stand at 26 Supporting Members because of 2142.
