Cool Just call me Commander Mugzy!

Ok, I am hooked on commanding now. I had some great rounds tonight and I find that I am a better commander than grunt.

If anyone under my command tonight has any tips or criticism, I am all ears!
When you can't run, you walk. When you can't walk, you crawl and when you can't do that, you get someone to carry you.

You did a great job commanding my squad around on Carebear Landing last night, Mugz. I think Zoraster has a CO Tips thread up in the 2142 tactics and strats board.

As mentioned here, I thought you did an excellent job on the maps I was SL, very responsive and the resources we needed seemed to arrive promptly.

One thing I personally like is more talking, I tend to talk when I SL and tell my SMs why I'm doing something that might not look like it makes sense (Sometimes it doesn't, and the SMs can then tell me that I'm stupid and suggest an alternate approach). Likewise I want to hear from the CO when I get orders that just seem like a bad idea.

The CO may order me to attack while I'm fully engaged defending what I think is a crucial flag. Without verbal communication, I don't know if the CO is planning to sacrifice that flag, move someone else to defend it, or if he just isn't aware of what's going on.

If I simply get an attack marker, I'll probably try to finish whatever we're doing first, and then disengage and move. On the other hand, if the CO tells me that an enemy squad has broken through and I need to fall back right away, I can disengage immediately, and sacrifice the forward flag.

Different tastes though, some SMs want me to STFU, some SLs just want a CO that drops crates now and then. I like a lot of talking all around.

I'm with you on the verbal communication with the CO. Having a CO's SitRep on the objective they order you to attack or defend is much more productive. Proper squad briefing and kit setup orders from a SL who knows what he's up against might affect the taking or losing of that flag.

I have to agree here. I talk ALOT when I CO. Always give Sat Track info each time I run it.
"3 infantry on west flank, apc and 8 infantry on south flank".
    "All back bases are clear"
    Etc.
And yes, everyone has different tastes. I am sure some SLers hate my talkative style, other love it. Personally, when I squad lead I love when I know the same info my commander knows.

    *shrug*

    Thanks Commander Mugzy.
