Re: 2142 Gentleman's Agreement
Signed (with the Brass add-on) and Amen.
I still don't like the idea of entering the other teams base and stealing/destroying their vehicles though - sure you can bomb-up the radar as a "special ops" play, but as far as the vehicles go they should remain the other team's property until they are driven out of the compound - if they abandon the vehicle after that then sure, it's anyones. It's all about common sense and fair-play which is what makes this server the envy of others. |

Re: 2142 Gentleman's Agreement
Signed, with Brass' addendum about spawn beacons, that is. Sometimes it is hard to find where it is, and I've encountered times where I lack the weaponry to properly destroy one. I do say that if I find it and can properly destroy it, I will. Though I'd note that given that the beacon has a valid in-character reason for working how it does, rather than "magical" appearing, I would argue that it is indeed REALISTIC tactics to suppress one. It may not be accurate to current rl warfare (but we don't have orbital drop beacons, now do we?
), but it sure is accurate to this setting's warfare - they're podding in, not just appearing magically via a limitation in the game engine. Plus, the pod-in when used correctly can give them an idea of what they'll face when they hit the ground, so it partially negates the entire argument that the enemy is at an unfair disadvantage without situational awareness. Still, if I find it and can destroy it, I will; if I can't, I'll guard it and eliminate any enemies podding in until someone gets there who can. That is my duty as a soldier, and in this futuristic world, it would be a realistic and approved tactic of any military to do this to beacons as well. This is my reasoning behind agreeing with Brass' addendum regarding spawn beacons, and my own view on things. So with this single reservation, I sign. PS: And thanks for bringing this over here Penguineer, and thanks to the individuals who wrote this up originally. Very nice post, good read, and I'm glad to sign. |

Signed... but "3. Taking advantage of a spawner's disorientation. While it may put you at a disadvantage, give the spawner time to get a handle on their surrounding before you shoot at them, such as giving them time to run a certain distance."
o.o That rule makes me cry, but that doesn't mean that I could "forget" sometimes ;D
