    Something I found really useful:
In teamspeak, go into Settings -> Key Settings and set up binds to change between the 2142 and the lobby channels. Its really easy should only take a few seconds of your time (I am personally using num1 and num4, seeing as how they dont conflict with battlefield controls). You can set up some other cool things like next/prev channel, or mute volume (which is nice when people get chatty and I cant hear my squad). If everyone did this it would be easy to just say "hey guys lets switch to the lobby channel" and then when you need to report you can swap right back. The problem is that people dont change channel because they don't have the bind set up. They are afraid that they will have to alt-tab out and the game will crash.

Off topic - anyone have a good reccomendation for the teamspeak button? Currently have it as F12 which is terrible, but I cant find any convenient keys to use. (Mouse keys are tied up fyi). I was thinking about replacing C which is change camera, but i am not a fan of that. PM me with ideas/solutions so I dont derail this thread.

Use a key that isn't a letter or your TS will go on as you type. I use Insert which works fine.

Sounds like I'll actually start coming back to the 2142 channel...all the chatter is what drove me away from it in the first place.

There is no easy way to get the names you are requesting without alt-tabbing, which usually results in the game crashing...

Yeah, I'd have fun with them. I'd yell once, then repeat offenses would get you moved to a channel all by yourself, or even kicked off of TS.

People with open mics also get on my nerves. Especially when it's repetitive quick flashes of mic static.

As we now have two servers that are getting used we should have two channels because in between rounds people like to talk. The problem is that in between rounds on one server is probably the middle of a game on the other. Just a thought.

Or have a second monitor and see who joins and speaks.

Or A G15 keyboard with the TS applet.

Thanks for the info Vendi. I now have this setup and will be able to jump channels as needed. In fact, it's also a great way to combat the chatter problem, also, since you can jump out of the main channel into the lobby to get away from the chatter if you want.

doesn't work for me for some reason. Do you have to be a registered user?

I wasn't insinuating for someone to go out and buy it, merely stating options that are available.

    Re: TeamSpeak getting very chatty

I haven't heard as much chatter on TS as the original post implies, but what does bother me is the conversations that carry over into the round after a break. I am trying to hear orders that either the commander or squad leader is giving and I can't. I have turned down the volume to TS but it still interferes with the commands being given. My two cents.

    Peace

another thing you can do is use shortcut keys to do TS functions. I have one that is "ctrl+shift+M" which will shutoff all incoming TS sound. Then if I have to report something, I can turn it back on with the same shortcut.
