TeamSpeak getting very chatty
rant on/
I've noticed that TeamSpeak is getting way too chatty during the rounds. I am not speaking of between rounds, actually during rounds. The past few weeks have been plagued with singing, reporting each kill you've gotten (often naming kills), yelling, cursing, bragging, etc. It is getting very distracting.
Yes, I do know how to mute the channel and turn the volume down/up on TS, but why should I have to? The BF2142 channel is not meant for general chat or banter, go into the Lobby or get a room.

Thanks in advance for your future consideration.

Re: TeamSpeak getting very chatty
I have to agree here. It can be even harder for an admin. They just cant mute the channel, and are forced to listen to middle of the round chatter. *shrug*
Between round smack talking and chat seems ok, and doesnt detract from gameplay.Battlefield 2: Battlefield 2142: WoW: Oblivion: NWN2

Re: TeamSpeak getting very chatty
I have never encountered this on a TG comms channel, but if I did, it would bug me too.

Re: TeamSpeak getting very chatty
Teamspeak channels in-game should be almost completely quiet unless there's an issue to be escalated to an admin. The primary purpose of those channels is for reporting rules violations, not chatter, idle conversation, or smack talk. Please respect the community and keep all non-critical chatter to a minimum while others are in-game.

Re: TeamSpeak getting very chatty
what is the point of the teamspeak chan if voice com can be done with in game voice?
do you all use teamspeak for tactical reasons during the game in addition to the in game com system? perhaps using it to communicate actions between squads?
i had assumed that the ts was for social stuff. plz correct me if im wrong.

For BF series or even CCS I don't see the point of TS. You have in game VoiP with your team. Now, to get ahold of an admin or something like that I could see, but using it for com's in a game that has more then ample com ability. I would tell them to go back to Game chat and get out of the TS rooms.

i'd love to use Teamspeak, but unfortunately for me, every time i use teamspeak, my mic won't transmit on VoiP. Anyone know why this might be or how to fix it?

Re: TeamSpeak getting very chatty
Most of the chatter I hear in the BF2 channels (I don't play 2142, but it's a problem there) sounds like people who are not actually in the server. Which is a problem because they probably don't realize that people are trying to hear the game sounds over their banter.
It is a problem though, and people should think about others in the channel before launching into conversation, unless it's between rounds. There are usually dozens of empty channels in TS to talk with someone if you need to. If you hear it happening, just gently remind people who are talking that others in the channel are trying to focus on the game."No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country.
He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country."

Re: TeamSpeak getting very chatty
In situation like this is is best to just advise your whole squad over VOIP. Someone in your squad is more then likely on TS and can relay infractions to TS.
I do this regulary for the squad I am in, just remember to get the persons name and be sure they violated a rule.Battlefield 2: Battlefield 2142: WoW: Oblivion: NWN2

Re: TeamSpeak getting very chatty
TS is way better then the in-game voip. if we could change the ingame voip to maybe transmit into my headphones then i would agree and say in-game voip is better. but i can't hear with all the crap blowing up.
