Local game?
Here are some noob questions:
How do you set up a local game? Is it possible to connect to one of your friend's computer by their IP and play BF2142?

Re: Local game?
To create a local server go to Multiplay the same as you would to play online then on the left menu you'll see "Local" click on that and you'll see two tabs in the main screen go to the "Create" tab and set up your maplist and such.
Yes it is possible to join your friends computer by their IP however they have to make sure the port is not block by a firewall and if they use a router they'd have to set up port fowarding. Once it is set up correctly just go the the advanced tab of the Online section then click connect to ip. Make sure you have the correct port aswell |

Re: Local game?
Also, if you want to have bots in the game you should choose Conquest Co-op, you can add bots in, and as people join the game it will auto kick the bots you set up in the first place. With a fairly small number of people the extra targets might be what you want.
I was fiddling around with this with two if my RL friends and ended up burning a map load before chossing the right game setting, so I thought I'd mention it. You may be seeing them round these parts eventaully. |
