Re: TacticalGamer.com's City Maps 24/7 Server
my opinion is that we'll never have a successful second server.
If we didn't have reserved spots for supporting members, things would be much much different, but the simple fact of the matter is that there are very few times that anyone who's a supporting member would rather go to the second server when they can really easily just log in, play with great team play and all their friends.
I know that i have no desire to seed a server when i know i could quickly log into the other one and experience immediate gratification at a higher level.
until the server gets so popular that we have something like 75 supporting members who want to play at a given time which means that the first server will be completely full of supporting members, I think the second server will meet infrequent success at best.
My two cents, so take it for what it's worth.

Re: TacticalGamer.com's City Maps 24/7 Server
The answer for you guys asking if you can run a Titan/Conquest server is yes, it can be done. Actually, I was just playing on one the other morning and remembered how fun it can be. It doesn't get as monotonus as just a straight conquest or titan server can be.
I would vote to change it to Titan/Conquest mix. 48 player too (is that the size of our second server?)

Re: TacticalGamer.com's City Maps 24/7 Server
I'm not sure I fully agree here.
We (TG) may not have enough members (notice I did not say supporting) interested in BF2142 to populate two servers at once, but you are forgetting about the pubbies that find our servers on a daily basis. Early on, both the Titan and Conquests servers had plenty of action, but as time passed most people grew tired of Titan for one reason or another and concentrated their attention on Conquest. It is my opinion that a second Conquest server (with possible Titan rotation) would fill with pubbies and possibly TG members once it is seeded.
some more $.02 (now I'm up to $.04
)

^Agree totally. If it switched to Titan/Conquest mix I will be there. I would def. jump back and forth between that and the Conquest server.

Re: TacticalGamer.com's City Maps 24/7 Server
maybe. i guess there's no harm in trying.
i think the reason it had success at first was that titan was SO new that people wanted to keep trying it out. there's nothing we can do to get that newness back.
personally, i'd love to see the main server as a titan/conquest mix in something like a 1:5 ratio. For example, replace Shuhia conquest with Shuhia titan in the rotation. Just enough of a difference to keep things a bit interesting, and not enough for people to get annoyed.
But i doubt that'll happen.

Re: TacticalGamer.com's City Maps 24/7 Server
City/Titan server is a great idea, especially since the new patch coming out adresses the Titan lag, for those of us who have "normal computers".

Re: TacticalGamer.com's City Maps 24/7 Server
Can we bring down the number of players it takes to start the city map server?
I sat on there the other day waiting for some people. Usually, well back in the old quake days you could seed a server if you stuck it out. We had 6 people
the maps are so small it would have been fun. We where playing but had not actually started. Everyone one left though we just couldnt get the 4 more we needed to start. Thanks.

Re: TacticalGamer.com's City Maps 24/7 Server
i believe there is a set number of people that have to join to start the server and being its ranked you cant change that number. they did this so the stat padders had a harder time stat padding. so i would say NO, you cant change the number of people to start the server.

Re: TacticalGamer.com's City Maps 24/7 Server
I'm in agreement with making the city/maps server a conquest/titan mixed server.
I'm also in very VERY high agreement that on the conquest server, Shuhia Taiba conquest be REPLACED in the rotation by Shuhia Taiba Titan. I've played it's titan variant and it becomes a MUCH more entertaining map. It's still heavy on the armor, but the mere addition of the titans and the need to keep the silos defended makes it much more infantry dependant. In addition to that, the air transport increases incredibly in importance and it a very solid tool for the skilled pilot and/or SL.|TG-Irr|Hiram_Yorik
