I think most of this was due to the fact that the scrim happened to land on a free unlock weekend.

Like it or not, 2142 is just not as strategic a game as BF2 and it's mods are. The maps do tend to be small, and everything in the game seems to be designed around fragging.

If we did this again, we should consider 20 second man-down-time, larger maps with bleed (I am very sad we didn't do Belgrade), and increased ticket count.

I dont think ticket count will effect anything other the total play time. If you run through a team your going to do it anyway.

I thought the 20 timer was supposed to be on this scrim anyway?

Yeah, the ping was rough. There were server issues which led to us running it on a different server than was intended. I had a ping of ~300 which completely destroyed the plan of me being the point man for our squad with a shotgun (can't hit anything with a shotgun with a ping of 300).

I had a good time without question...it's a pretty intense game with lot's of lethal things flying everywhere all the time...

That said I echo what what RedBane, Hambergler, and Tempus said.

I at one point found myself standing over an ammo box hurling grenades, alot of them, down at the advancing troops. It just didn't seem right.

Map size is probably the biggest issue in my mind...just too small, way too many choke points turn it into a mob-fest of death dealing weaponry.

Yes, we need to play the bigger maps next time. I know that in tight maps, I shoot more rockets than I do bullets. On bigger maps, I only use rockets when firing into tight corners.

I think Minsk is the biggest map in the game. We should probably try and use that one next time simply because its sheer size and unfamiliarity to both parties will be a tremendous playing field leveler. And it'd be interesting to see how it pans out.

It's in Texas. It's much higher than on the Virginia server (TG conquest). Anyone connecting from europe to a texas server is going to get above 200 ping. It's always been a given.

Honestly, we didn't have a good plan. It wasn't posted in one thread so all could read, but we did have lots of back and forth discussion on strategy.

Same here. I usually connect to that server at 50 but I was at 130 for the rounds with rubber banding. I noticed there were a lot of high pings.

My screen started skipping for a bit and I thought I had crashed or a popup window was forcing BF to minimize. At that point I was greeted with a few grenades next to church. Whoever the team that assaulted church was, you did a good job for being at an elevation disadvantage.

I'm not objecting to titan play in the least. In fact, I'd prefer it. Though the thing is that with TGers, whoever has the titan assault will still need to resort to silo capturing since defense will be frag-central.

Then again, since there are two routes to destroying the titan, one will need to almost literally take the following into account:

"When you come to a fork in the road, take it."

Both routes will need to be defended/attacked. But in the confines of a titan, that will be brutal for whoever assaults, as they'll meet with a lethal hail of sentry guns and apms (though not as many apms if apm ff is turned on).

Okay, I'm convinced. Next tg scrim needs to be on a 64-player sized TITAN map
