Re: Bronze to Silver to Gold, in TWO ROUNDS

Like Fehmart, I picked up my gold on Camp Gib when the PAC had pushed through toll and were attacking Central. We took up position on the western roof top and i dropped a med pack and next thing i knew, i had the gold. I find that if you have NO idea what the badge requirements are, it goes faster...

No joke. I prone outside of the Toll Booth choke point just pluggin away and at the end of the round I see I got the support service badge. My sentry gun got like 7 kills somehow, I still have no idea how that worked out but I won't complain.

Re: Bronze to Silver to Gold, in TWO ROUNDS

I prefer to keep an eye on awards I'm close on and try and eke up my play abilites to try and attain them. If you don't pay attention to them and kind of just get one every so often as a surprise then you don't have as much of the sense of accomplishment as when you work your behind off for a couple days to get in the sweet run to sack up the requirements for that award. Sure, if an award just pops up, there is a fleeting moment of "wow, an award, I rule." But when you work for it because it is a challenge an it expands your play abilites to attain that award it's at a different level.

Plus awards provide a good amount of bonus points, and while I'm far far from being a point whore, ranking up from 0 career points on the TG server I need all the help I can get against stiff competition. It's a good thing to work towards some extra point infusions, especially the ones that are directly in line with your playstyle, whichever awards that may be.

The thing that gets me is there is like 2 specific Conquest awards, but like 20 Titan awards. I'm sure the imbalance is there to get more people to actually play Titan, but damn.

Good job guys. It is nice to work your way up and/or work towards a goal and meet it. Last night I made General, so its all downhill for me. Really, I could give a damn about the rank, I just wanted all my unlocks.

Now in two rounds I got not just silver, but GOLD.

The clincher was when I was in IMI50's squad on the PAC at Camp Gibby. I wracked up 20 kills, and was 4 away from 30 (I already long had the required total assault hours) when the round ended.

The next round was Cerebere Landing. IMI and myself were just tired and it was not a very filled server so we goofed off with royal proportions (to the extent that we were the ones who significantly contributed to Fehmart getting over 100 points w/o badges or ribbons or pins points contributions that round). We mainly stayed on the top covered level of CC and with a support box and both of us being medics, rained down rocket fire into roadblock, which the PAC held. Also, a few excursions to the west side of roadblock with rockets and grenades helped me as well. I ended up killing fehmart with a full mag of baur rounds to the body, and got the chance to blow away the all-hallowed Viper from the 33rd. I thought I got screenies, but I can't find the files anywhere.

Anyway, right before the round ended, I got my 30th kill with the assault kit that round and got the gold badge, just one round after I got my silver. For some of you, that may have been easy. For me, it was determination to get those badges (when I realized how close I was, I was determined that I was going to qualify), and sheer tenacity that won that for me. I worked my tail off to get those kills, and man it felt good to get those badges. I netted a high HIGH score at the end of the round (maybe top 3 for my team...I forgot).

AND, here's the kicker. I went onto a random pubby server to get the one or two points necessary to rank up (the server wasn't ranking me up like it ought to have), and I ranked up TWICE to Chief Petty Officer Silver, and am about 300 pts. away from Chief Petty Officer Gold!! All I need is in a round to get 20 SLSB spawns from my squad and I've got that rank in the bag.

So, yeah, I know skill and teamwork mean more than badges and points, but you've got to admit, if you did this well comparatively in one night, you'd be pretty exuberant yourself.

Turns out I had a good valentine's day after all......wait, it's after midnight already....shoot!
I'm super jealous of you! Super jealous I tell you!

I must say, nice job!

I don't know about you guys, but I managed to get SL badge from Bronze to Gold in one round. As always, I earned it on the TG Conquest server. It'll be interesting to see someone get two badges from bronze to gold in a round.

Edit: P.S. I stil don't have Silver Assault badge given how many hours I've put into Assault.

Re: Bronze to Silver to Gold, in TWO ROUNDS

Yeah, and here's another funny thing. Soon after, I got my Squad-leader silver badge. Now I can earn the Gold as well now that I have the required global SL points.....I just need 30 SLSB spawns.....I need a good squad that will continue to spawn on the becon in a meatgrinder map

Also, I quickly move up from petty officer silver to petty officer gold, and just today earned Warrant Officer Silver . Next unlock is the recon netbat.
