So, I just recently got my assault service badge. For my own feeling of "I am good at this game", I've been trying to wrack up 20 kills with the assault kit for the past day or two.

Now in two rounds I got not just silver, but GOLD.

The clincher was when I was in IMI50's squad on the PAC at Camp Gibby. I wracked up 20 kills, and was 4 away from 30 (I already long had the required total assault hours) when the round ended.

The next round was Cerebere Landing. IMI and myself were just tired and it was not a very filled server so we goofed off with royal proportions (to the extent that we were the ones who significantly contributed to Fehmart getting over 100 points w/o badges or ribbons or pins points contributions that round). We mainly stayed on the top covered level of CC and with a support box and both of us being medics, rained down rocket fire into roadblock, which the PAC held. Also, a few excursions to the west side of roadblock with rockets and grenades helped me as well. I ended up killing fehmart with a full mag of baur rounds to the body, and got the chance to blow away the all-hallowed Viper from the 33rd. I thought I got screenies, but I can't find the files anywhere.

Anyway, right before the round ended, I got my 30th kill with the assault kit that round and got the gold badge, just one round after I got my silver. For some of you, that may have been easy. For me, it was determination to get those badges (when I realized how close I was, I was determined that I was going to qualify), and sheer tenacity that won that for me. I worked my tail off to get those kills, and man it felt good to get those badges. I netted a high HIGH score at the end of the round (maybe top 3 for my team...I forgot).

AND, here's the kicker. I went onto a random pubby server to get the one or two points necessary to rank up (the server wasn't ranking me up like it ought to have), and I ranked up TWICE to Chief Petty Officer Silver, and am about 300 pts. away from Chief Petty Officer Gold!! All I need is in a round to get 20 SLSB spawns from my squad and I've got that rank in the bag.

So, yeah, I know skill and teamwork mean more than badges and points, but you've got to admit, if you did this well comparatively in one night, you'd be pretty exuberant yourself.

Turns out I had a good valentine's day after all......wait, it's after midnight already....shoot!
