Average player type
I think its interesting, after playing WOW and Guild Wars, that this game seems to be almost dominated by male adult sounding voices. GW and WOW seemed to have a much higher ratio of children and women. I really dont know why this is relevant it just occurred to me. There does seem to be a rather large number of "English, Australian, or South African-sounding" dialects across the speakers also. There's really not a point to this post. Just an observation compared to other games I ve played.
I guess this is not a very social based game. Too bad we dont have a tavern in Berlin near the square, I guess.I invited everyone at the office to play Battlefield, but it was a rather one side match when I was the only who brought an assault rifle to work the next day :-)

That's b/c women and children generally don't get lots of enjoyment from repeated battles on the same maps. Not saying that we men like monotony, but rather get entertainment from the different tactics and such, and of course like blowing the crap out of things and opposing players, which is different from how women get enjoyment from games.
Games where social interaction is key to game success (not in using voice comms effectively....not in that sense), not just battlefield competancy and squad handling, appeals to them more. Kids b/c they don't have the reflexes or grasp of tactics that adult men generally do (counting mid to upper teenage guys in this categorization of "adult men").

My girlfriend actually enjoys these types of games she still plays bf2. Only reason she isn't fraggin me on bf2142 is because she hasnt brought it yet...but she still plays just about everything else i do...arma ofp sof2 hell even the punisher game lol...I guess i lucked out...nobody to tell me to get off the computer when she is behind me doin her own thing lol

It only seems that way because playing Battlefield makes you at least 10 times more manly. Most of the 7th is maxed out as far as manliness goes but for others it's more apparent; for example Dark Viper is actually a 16 year old girl.

my wife simply does not like fps games
the biggest factor for her i think is the fact that she kind of sucks at them and she cant stand sucking at things. most of the game i spend reviving her and killing those that kill her. its actually pretty amusing to use her as a meatshield like that... to me at least...
she is a big fan of rpg games like neverwinter nights. we play that on lan often enough, she even digs pvp servers and likes to beat up on noobs. but no matter how hard i try, she just seems to dislike fps games.

Well... Concr3te is actually a (nearly) 14 year old boy and I enjoy bf 2142 and TG probably as much as you guys do
Only thing I don't like is that I sound like a girl over VoIP :\
