    Yes, the Titan/City maps server.

will it be 48 players, 32p size maps? I think thats the ideal size for us.

I played 2 maps. A couple rail guns can make short work of the Goliath if it's not paying attention. You get a point for destroying each repair panel. They are counted the same as if you destroyed the commander assets.

    I got 2 easy unlocks.

You may want to start the rotation with NS maps though. Right now it's on belgrade, and I think there might be more luck seeding the server when it's NS right now as it was just released.

true...which is why the goliath still needs ground support from troops to keep the enemy out of the rain guns. Slap an IDS on that thing and itll be really sick.

i realized i was up at 2am central when it went live at midnight pacific... i found some server with a fairly full capacity (48) and played all three maps and i think the Port one is very intense and alot of fun.

when i disconnected and checked stats in bfhq. i saw i had two awards and two unlocks. wow. unlocks from awards. this is gonna help...

i gotta go check on the beer at the local pub here and make sure its cold enough, but when i get back, im all sorts of excited for TG northern strike!

Yeah, all 3 maps are really fun....I can't wait till we have a full server full of TGers. That way we'll be playing the maps like they were meant to be played.

So far I've been having a blast, and have earned 3 easy unlocks so far. I need just one more death-by-speeder and I'll have another easy unlock earned.

    Already got 2 goliath kills.

The hachimoto is VERY VERY fun to play in. Awesome vehicle.

Hint: cloak and RDX are awesome on taking down a goliath. One RDX per recharge cell on the goliath, and you can take out 5 cells in one swipe. Just be quick so the gunners don't try and make short work of you (its worth it to suicide by blowing the RDX as soon as you've planted the last one, if you're under fire.

This is against our server's rules.

I think this is a case of him using the wrong wording. He should have said "it's worth detonating even if there is a risk of hurting yourself." I think in this instance, it wouldn't count as an intentional suicide; you're likely dead if you wait another second before blowing the RDX anyway. I don't mean to argue with an admin, but food for thought.

That was bad wording indeed. I'm sure brassy did not mean intentional suicide. More so, probably, as a kidding/joke remark.

    Re: Northern Strike Released

seemed pretty clear to me :/

its tempting to blow yourself with the rdx if the obj your trying to destroy is important and death is certain by the enemy if you get far enough away that you are not in your own blast radius.
I suspect this is pretty hard to catch if you are an admin. It really falls on the players to respect the rules and their intent. i certianly dont look down on him for it, we are human and as such, are prone to error.

the excitement of new maps and vehicles im sure played a part in clouding his judgment when he posted that. sure it is "worth" it from a logical standpoint, your going to die anyway, why not destroy the enemy objective? but this simply is not what we are about. read over the primer again. think about how you would feel if somone did this to the vehicle you are in? like it or not, suicide tactics do not have a place in our game. this is a contentious issue that has come up several times even in the month or so I have been playing TG regularly. im guessing we all need to be reminded once in a while.

now, back to our regularly scheduled drooling over new stuff.

Yeah, you're right. It wasn't an intentional suicide tactic, either. It was slapping RDX on the Goliath, and running like crazy. When I was down to very VERY little health, I hit the button on the RDX. If I hadn't, the RDX would've gone undetonated, and there would've been a worthless ticket loss. I was never sure if I'd suicided or if it was still the enemy firing on me. Either way it was bad wording, Bom. My intent wasn't there, it's just what ended up happening.

Still, it was bad wording. I tried my best to get out of there alive. It's just that I went in knowing I probably wasn't coming out, but knowing that I could get more regen cells blown in that one run than I could if I'd spawned as an engy with a pilum (one of the BEST weapons on taking out the cells.....even better than a rail, I say).

I'll take that into consideration. I won't detonate until I'm farther away. And if I die, I'll simply respawn with a zeller and detonate the RDX that I'd planted earlier from a distance.

    Re: Northern Strike Released

Alright. We all remember the whole deal with the booster packs in Battlefield 2, or at least most of us do. Special Forces ran on a seperate server, but no one played that game. The Euro Forces/Armored Fury packs were only bought by a few, and those who didn't have said packs were kicked off the server immediately.

Northern Strike runs on a separate server, so there's no fear of being booted cause I don't have the expansion. But, I'm just still a little skeptical about NS. Can someone act like they're EA and "sell" this booster to me? I really would like to know what it's like before I put money on this.
