Re: This is my rifle. There are many like it.
I'll have to give the Baur another go, because I usually set the Voss for PAC and leave the default Scar for the EU, don't ask me why. Anyhoo, the reason I like the Voss is the fact that is has more bullets, and a higher ROF. Basically, the same reasons I love the support kit and have the gold badges for the support stuff. I love shooting lots of bullets: It's fun. However, I might try the Baur, on a purely experimental basis of course. Still, I'll probably go back to my Ganz sooner or later. Aw, poor baby, daddy's coming. Now let's go shoot some people together and bond, father-and-son style.

Re: This is my rifle. There are many like it.
Voss is good if you know you're up against a fellow TG squad and it's going to be CQ.
The Baur is great for those support roles when you're a medic and need to stay alive, but at the same time give covering fire as your squad advances.

Re: Voss vs. Baur
When I look back on it, The Voss is easy to pickup and learn. I feel like the Buar has more of a learning curve you have to pickup on to get good with it.
Also something to note that I like about the buar vs the voss is the sight scope. The voss really limits your sight and can't see anything flanking your from your right side. The Buar on the other hand has a excellent side sight area.

Same here. On most infantry maps I use the voss just because of its large clip and high ROF. On maps that are more open or long ranged I use the baur in single shot mode. I think there is no true answer as to which one is better. It all comes down the the situation and your preference.

Re: Voss vs. Baur
My first weapon unlock ever was the Baur so I used that a LOT in the low ranks. But I don't use it too often anymore now. Because I choose the Voss for infantry maps and the Ganz for large maps with lots of long range fighting, also, where would you need the long range power of the Baur for when you have assault rockets!

If they sped up the ROF slightly on the Baur, I think it would increase its popularity versus the Voss. Maybe they could make it the odd ball gun, and make it 750 RPM.

might've been ingame name is Zidishere i've only used the baur in the ns server so it's a good chance.

The Bauer is great for teaching people better ammunition management.

Re: Voss vs. Baur
As long as you are skilled in the any of the assault rifles, there is no point in saying which is better. I used to use Baur at any condition and it doesn't bother me being a good Baur user. Now I use Voss and I am doing even better than when I was using Baur.

Re: Voss vs. Baur
I'd have to go with the Baur, it has stopping power, accuracy, and forces your trigger finger to be less trigger-happy. As for the Voss, well the size of the magazine is enough to suppress an enemy, I find it takes too long to take out a target, and timing is quite important to me as I'm always running around reviving.

Re: Voss vs. Baur
I have been giving the Baur another chance recently, and have been doing much better with it. If you are having troubles with it, try going into single player or LAN co-op mode. It really gives you a feel for where you need to place your shots in automatic mode (ie at x distance aim x cm below the head). If I wasn't trying to break into the top 100 Krylov users, I would probably use the Baur even more.

Re: Voss vs. Baur
Look... Experiment uses the Voss. He endorses it. It's on his jacket and his APC. It is the approved, licensed, and official weapon of the Experiment led 7th RNGR squad. Really, why would you want to use anything else?

Re: Voss vs. Baur
I usually team up with one of my IDIOT mate medics outside of TG server. He uses the Voss and I use the Baur. He usually gets more kills but we can cover each others weaknesses perfectly.
- I Singleshot Baur down enemies at long Range while he tries to tickle them with the Voss or tries to Rocket them telling everyone and their mum where our position is
- He sprays down 3 people in CQ while I am busy reloading after 2
- I cover him killing 2 more people while he takes 5minutes* on the Voss reload animation
*may be exaggerated
- He kills one Bunnyhopper with his mag while the bunnyhopper outhopped my full Baur
- I cover his ass when his Voss is completly out of ammo while my Baur still has 3 clips left and he runs after some Puby Support guy shouting for Ammo 3 Minutes only armed with his Pistol

Re: Voss vs. Baur
Until a couple of weeks ago I exculsively used the Voss. (I don't have a Voss tattoo on my butt like experiment but I never used anything else.)
I've been trying out the Baur in certain situations and I've had very good success with it. For me, the most surprising thing was how devastating the Baur was using single shot at mid-range.
My 2 cents:
Short Range: Voss
Mid Range: Baur
Long Range: Either
If you can't predict the range: Voss

I would say that the Baur trumps the Voss at long range...but then I never sit back and plink away at them. I much prefer shoving the muzzle into their bellies and dispensing a perfectly proportioned amount of ballistics into them!
