I like both, but for some reason I use the Baur more. Now if they only made an upgrade on the ammo for the baur. Do any of the buar users use it for tight combat inside places?

And Voss users, do you use it for long range?

I have found both to be good, but voss is weak at range and the baur ammo-less.

For the voss in long range combat I will either try to close the distance before engaging or just switch to rockets. Actually even with the baur I will switch to rockets for really long range. There is something about plink plinking away tiny amounts of health that bothers me.

man when using long distance rockets (while on the subject), does the damage decrease with distance?

No, rockets do same damage independant of range (unless ou hit them under 20).

Yeah if its long distance with a Voss, I would usually use rockets but then you get server noobs saying Your lame for using rockets near 30m (roll eyes)

Voss all the way! It is so satisfying to come around the corner and spray down a whole squad! I don't use the Baur mainly because I get in close range and it has too much recoil, a lower ROF, and I hate having to reload every five seconds with the 20 round clip. On big maps like Sidi Powerplant I may use the Baur if I'm defending an outpost that is away from the rest of the battle like communications but other wise I use the Voss.

I use the Baur almost exclusively. Reason = PPPOOOOWWEEEERRRR

I think it's a gun that at first can take some getting used too, but after a while, in the right hands, it's a real beast.

I've been using the voss forever now but I think I will give the other a chance. Try it out it may work for me as well. No matter if it was bumped .... I think it's good for all to see again!

I love the Baur. It's a great weapon for both close and far engagements. Anything from medium to long range single shot or 2-3 shot bursts. Coming around corners is full auto.

The choice comes down to a difference of mindset, not only skill. You always want to meet the enemy on your terms and each weapon has a different advantage. I try to get into CQC to take advantage of the Voss's strengths, but that's just how I play. If I am trying to take a flag I know I can expect some enemies to be right on top of me which is exactly where the Voss shines.

I've noticed people have been using the Baur more since its on kits that I have been picking up. As such I've had a chance to try it again and frankly, I'm not getting the hype.

For some reason I initially had a assumption that the Baur had superior accuracy, and perhaps it's because I wasn't as familiar with it but I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. Going back to mindset, I tend to be in squads that are moving a lot and trying to get from location to location, as such I encounter more CQC which again points to the Voss.

In regards to single fire, I’d rather take more shots which each have a chance to get a head shot compared to having to aim my shot, handle the recoil, reset and try again. I’m no mathematician but but I like spray and pray better. Most engagements are won in the matter of a second and getting those bullets out there is priority.

Also, I think from a tactical point of view Sc1ence got it right on that at longer ranges enemies can be revived with less fear. Not to mention the giant gorilla in the room for long range, namely rockets. At long range NOTHING compares. Why use a bullet when you can blow up an enemy and the guy who’s trying to revive him?

Comparatively, the Voss’s weaknesses aren’t substantial enough to take away from it’s advantages which is why it remains my most trusted weapon when going assault.

Baur over Voss anyday, although I'm not very good with the Baur either. When I first unlocked it I used it like a shotgun, running up into people's face with it and ramming half a clip up their nose. Now I find I'm trying to use it like a default rifle, and it's just not cutting it. SCAR11 or Krylov is the name of the game.
