Northern Strike Leipzig Map Size
IMO, the current Leipzig map (size 64) is a bit to big for the number of players. There is simply too much flag hopping.
It may be worth giving the size 32 a shot - I think it would improve gameplay. (This is assuming we can use a map size 32 with 48 players on it.) The different map layouts can be seen here http://planetbattlefield.gamespy.com...&id=254&game=8

Re: NS Leipzig map size
I prefer the smaller size also. With the 64 player size it is impossible to unlock the main base. With 5 flags to capture and only 24 people on your team there just are not enough people to hold all those flags. It would be fine if the game was not assault lines. The large map just turns it into conquest with two uncapturable bases. Guess it just depends on what type of game we want to have.

Re: NS Leipzig map size
I would also have to disagree. I think a large map with a large number of players encourages many of the very qualities that TG stands for: Teamwork, Communication, and Tactics.
Personally, I like the size of Liberation of Leipzig because there are so many avenues from any given flag to another. It makes holding flags much more difficult than just taking them, and creates no real choke points that a savvy SL can't circumvent. It is arguably my favorite map of those on the NS server.

Re: NS Leipzig map size
I'd like to try it out a few times, but I have a feeling it will become a meat grinder when the server is full, being there are only three control points other than the UCBs...

Re: NS Leipzig map size
I like the map size as it is now because it requires the team to work together to orchestrate a true assault across the map, make a kind of frontline. Fewer flags would allow teams to win by just assigning squads to flags. I'd be willing to give it a shot but I think we'd be loosing a lot of strategic depth and redesigning the map so the easy solution works.

Re: NS Leipzig map size
I agree. That map needs to be minimized cause its HUGE. And it's so armor based that you just HAVE to spawn engineer and I think that's pretty boring. It's also impossible to cap the homebase on that map...

Re: Northern Strike Leipzig Map Size
I think 64 Leipzig is fine, but I agree that Remagen should be switched to 32 player. It's a large and boring map, even with a full server (though still better than the current vanilla vehicle maps like Shuhia Taiba, Suez, and Sidi).

Re: Northern Strike Leipzig Map Size
Actually, there really is no difference in the amount of "avenues" a squad and team could use between the 64 Leipzig and the 32 Leipzig. The amount of playable map area is roughly the same, excluding the PAC UCB. Still plenty of ways to get the different flags.
Smaller Remagen might be nice, too.
