Battlefield 1942

This is the mother of all of the BF's. It works on practicaly any machine, and it might be an interesting test to see if we put it as a game under the Battlefield series. It uses dx 8 (low ha ha) Well, it has a nice system, but no voice system so you must use the other systems out there. An interesting thing out there, one can kill a tank with his pistol...if he has tons of ammo. It is a good game, and the airplains actually work for everyone- you can do any moves..... they are like zeros, hell cats, and more. I suggest that if anyone wants to play a classic, go buy BF 1942 and warm up the tanks.

I know I still have a copy, but how about you?

Please tell me your thoughts.

I'm not entirely clear on what your trying to say...You want TG to have a BF1942 server, I think?...

Re: Battlefield 1942

well, not really- see , if I remember right one can actually host his own game, not using a regular server; I think it would be nice to know how many would be interested in the game, though. Although if there are enough people with this game, then ideas of offical acknowledgement should be considered. But, that's just me.

Re: Battlefield 1942

I think he's reminiscing.

I have 1942 loaded right now. I reloaded it last month. I would run around endlessly with a bazooka, nades and a pistol. The good ole days. No squads, no commanders and no voip.

It's a much slower game than BF2 and 2142.

Re: Battlefield 1942

There's a BF2 version of DC launching. We're hopefully going to have a server up.

If you want original 1942 / DC, then Supporting Members can book the C&E server through me.

DCON is the key acronym = Desert Conflict
(DC = Desert Combat and was bought by EA)

Re: Battlefield 1942

ok, but
!1) Battlefield Vietnam: has been out for some time and it was known for playing music when you jumped in the Huey and the Cobra, and the other vehicles (think Bad Moon Rising)

!2) Eve of Destruction: it is a well known and magazine supported mod for Battlefield 1942.

EoD is also in the works for Battlefield2 check it out here: http://www.eodmod.com/downloads.php
