Dropships
Howdy folks. I've been playing 2142 lately, and ofcourse there is no other place like TG where folks actually communicate and work as a team
. However, I am a tad bit heart-broke. The main thing I absolutely LOVE to do in the BF serious, is to drive the helicopter drop ship. Transporting units in and out of hotzones... omg what a rush, hehe. I was just wondering if any maps that support drop ships will be added to the server, so far the only one I *think* has one is Sidi.

Re: Dropships
Ah, I don't have NS. I'm not really a BF player that much, CoD2 mostly. How many conquest maps do have dropships?

Re: Dropships
I've seen a few maps that have them. Like Sidi Powerplant and... whats that one we all hate? The one with the base in the middle that everyone flies their transports to.
Anyway, I love transport/dropship duties too. It's the funnest ever, but sometimes people can't get it in their heads that it's a "transport ship" not a flag taker. Sure I can capture flags with it, but it's the only time I die (and when gunships decide they want to go on a rampage).

Re: Dropships
Hehe, what I love doing is swooping to a flag, drooping the folks off, and then going off about 100 yards and land it and wait for them to take it, fly back in pick em up and run for it!

Re: Dropships
The only maps currently in the rotation that have dropships are Sidi and Shuia. The only other one I can think of right now that has one is the 64 person version of Verdun. Most of the maps are too linear for a drop ship.
One piece of advice for flying it though. When transporting troops it best to hover a little when they bail out. If you're moving when they do chances are you'll rack up a lot of tks. |

Re: Dropships
well, it only happens when you're turning. You can usually make a completely straight run over an outpost and drop people just fine. But what I usually do is go in at full speed, and then when about 10 m from the flag, I pull up hard and break to a complete stop over the flag, then when everyone is out i fly away.
Oh, and sometimes it's fun to fly up to an altitude where you can barely see the ground (because of fog) and let my gunners wipe out the people below. Rank up the assists ![]()
