Re: TG vs. TG 2142 Scrimmage part 2!!!
yeah, I have thought about it. I really hate to break up in-house squads, but at the same time, I'm not sure it's fair to those who aren't on the two (perhaps 3 now) largest in-house squads to end up getting the short end of the stick. For example, last time I think the 9th were happy to play with each other despite the ass-kicking, but people like Snail were unhappy because they didn't get the interaction of having 13 squad mates on AND they ended up on the wrong end of a rocket.
So what I'm thinking is this: for each in house squad I'll try and keep up to one squads worth together. So, for example, if there are 6 or fewer members of a particular in-house squad, I'll put them on the same team. If there are more than that, I'll put at least 6 on one team and the rest distributed as feels fairest. I'll try and gauge based on skill levels, but obviously my feel for particular players' skills is going to be pretty off.
My goal is obviously to maximize fun. I'd like to keep in-house squads together if possible, but I'd also like to make sure that we end up with a fair match. I think in the end, that'll be more fun for all involved. I was on teamspeak with the 7th after the last scrimmage, and while I think many felt good about the domination, the "fun" aspect wasn't really there.
I think to some degree the playing field has evened in terms of skill, and I'll make sure that I pick a commander for both sides who is competent in his duties which should help even things out a bit.
If anyone else has a suggestion on how to balance fairness of teams with in-house squads, I'm all ears.

Re: TG vs. TG 2142 Scrimmage part 2!!!
I think it might be a good idea to post a draft of the team rosters early (ASAP). Then allows the rest of us to comment and suggest changes as to what we feel is fair.

Re: TG vs. TG 2142 Scrimmage part 2!!!
well, when i post the rosters, I don't really want to enter into a period of cajoling and bartering. I'll be sure to talk to the leader of each team first, but I'm not really prepared to have a public debate on team selections. For one, I don't think we have time. I'll want to start registration tomorrow and have teams decided a week in advance of the match giving them time to come up with an appropriate strategy.
I'll try and talk to representatives from each of the larger units about it as well to assure that they're not getting the short end of the stick.
